Discovery of a new mayfly species
Abstract
A new species of mayfly, Labiobaetis academicus, was discovered in Indonesia. The species was found in the Cenderawasih University campus in Jayapura, Papua Province. The discovery is significant as it adds to the knowledge of the Labiobaetis claudiae group. The species can be identified by its unique characteristics, such as the paraproct distally expanded. The discovery of this new species highlights the importance of continued research in the field of entomology.
