Abstract
Dystrophinopathies are multi-system disorders that affect the skeletal musculature, the cardio-respiratory system and the central nervous system. The systematic screening of suitable biofluids for reliable biomarkers of dystrophinopathies is crucial for early diagnosis and treatment. The proteomic identification of elevated saliva kallikrein in dystrophinopathies may provide a novel approach for the detection of this disorder.
