Positional cloning and physiological analysis of novel Arabidopsis mutants involved in drought stress signalling
Positional cloning and physiological analysis of novel Arabidopsis mutants involved in drought stress signalling
Three novel ethylmethanesulfonate-induced mutants of Arabidopsis thaliana were characterized with respect to their response to drought stress and to abscisic acid (ABA). The mutants jbp20 and rrsc7 are affected in ABA signalling while the mutant phros13 is impaired in early drought stress signalling. Positional cloning identified jbp20 as a novel allele of the phosphatase CPL3 while due to epigenetic effects, cloning of rrsc7 on chromosome 3 and of phros13 on chromosome 2 could not be completed.
