Tomato BCAT2 gene is mapped on chromosome 7 by the RFLP-method. Its expression level in various tissue types is determined by Northern blot hybridization. Subcellular localization of ????????2-GFP protein is investigated with the help of confocal microscopy. It was localized in mithochondria. The results obtained are discussed with regard to the role of this enzyme in the metabolism of branched-chain amino acids.
