A New Species of Camptocerus Dejean, 1821 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae: Scolytini) from Ecuador
Abstract
Camptocerus lucwildi Smith and Cognato, new species is described from montane forests of the western slope of the Andes in Los Rios Province, Ecuador. The species is similar in morphology to Camptocerus quadridens Blackman, except that the male has one acute spine on the base of each elytron. This species represents one of the few species of Camptocerus Dejean known from the Tumbes-Choco-Magdalena forest.
