Notes on the genus Diochus Erichson, with descriptions of two new species from China (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae)

Abstract

Two new species of the genus Diochus from China are described and illustrated: D. caudapiscis Shuai, Nozaki & Tang, sp. n. from Yunnan, and D. guizhouensis Shuai, Nozaki & Tang, sp. n. from Guizhou. Diochus bicornutus Zhou & Zhou, 2016 syn. nov. is proposed as a junior synonym of D. japonicus Cameron, 1930, which is reported as new to Anhui. Diagnostic characters for the new species and D. japonicus are illustrated. A modified key to Diochus species of China is provided.
