Crystal structure determination of Cys-S-sulfonated HsGAPDH from protein purified from the supernatant of HEK293F cells.

Abstract

P.R. is the recipient of a LISCB Wellcome Trust ISSF award, grant reference 204801/Z/16/Z and a Wellcome Trust Seed Award in Science, grant reference 214090/Z/18/Z. A.L. is the recipient of a PhD Studentship from the Agricultural and Forestry Department (DAFNE) of the University of Tuscia (Viterbo, Italy) and funding from the Italian National Research Council (to Angelo Santino).

An account of the experimental steps taken to obtain crystal structures of human GAPDH which show partial oxidation of the catalytic cysteine of the protein to cysteine S-sulfonic acid. The context to the experiments is briefly described at our Open Secretion Rescue blog hosted at the SGC Open Lab Notebooks.
