Abstract

El Herbario "Reinaldo Espinosa", fundado en 1946, conocido internacionalmente con el acrónimo LOJA, es un centro de enseñanza e investigación de la vegetación y recursos florísticos de la Región Sur del País. El herbario LOJA posee 43 888 especímenes botánicos de las provincias de Loja, Zamora Chinchipe y El Oro, es un herbario que prioriza las colecciones botánicas de los tipos de vegetación en estas provincias, también se mantienen especímenes botánicos de Morona Santiago, Napo, Sucumbios que han llegado por donación.
