Abstract
O herbário HVASF possui uma coleção voltada para a flora do Vale do São Francisco, no entanto no seu acervo estão depositadas espécies importantes de todos os ecossitemas encontrados no Nordeste do Brasil. O HVASF foi recentemente implantado e já está indexado ao Indexherbariorum. Apresenta como objetivo tornar-se uma coleção de referência para o estudo da flora da Caatinga.
