MUTPL Bird Collection
The bird collection of the Museo de Zoología, Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja currently consists of more than 180 specimens (by the end of 2024) corresponding to 105 species, 33 families and 14 orders. Mostly skins, but there is also a small collection of eggs and nests. Most of the existing material comes from the provinces of El Oro, Loja and Zamora Chinchipe, southern Ecuador.La colección de aves del Museo de Zoología de la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja consta de más de 180 especímenes (al fin del 2024) correspondientes a 105 especies, 33 familias y 14 órdenes. En su mayoría pieles, pero también se cuenta con una pequeña colección de huevos y nidos. La mayor cantidad del material existente para la taxa aves en el museo proviene de las provincias de El Oro, Loja y Zamora Chinchipe, sur de Ecuador.
