Abstract

Las colecciones de flora son centros de documentación y registro de la biodiversidad, que promueven el desarrollo de la información científica y pronóstico ambiental. La colección del Herbario de la Universidad Tecnológica Indoamérica "HUTI" se alimenta de diferentes actividades como proyectos de investigación y salidas de campo programadas en las cátedras de la Universidad. Hasta la fecha el herbario “HUTI” cuenta con un total de 1582 muestras botánicas, las mismas que están catalogadas, preservadas, mantenidas y organizadas taxonómicamente, bajo estándares de curaduría internacional para cada uno de los grupos taxonómicos. El ojetivo del "HUTI" es desarrollar y fomentar la investigación y conservación de la biodiversidad, en base al estudio de especímenes preservados, así como promover y facilitar la difusión de la información botánica en el ámbito científico, educativo y del público general.
