Abstract
La colección de fitolitos actuales, cuenta con 1127 micropreparados, de los cuales 1082 poseen determinación taxonómica hasta el nivel de especie y 45 hasta género. En total, la colección abarca 749 entidades taxonómicas, agrupadas en 331 géneros y 81 familias de plantas. Las diez familias con mayor número de micropreparados puede observarse en la Figura 1. Sin embargo, hasta el momento la colección se ha enfocado en grupos de interés cultural, como las palmas (Palmae) y las gramineas (Poaceae), los cuales representan respectivamente el 32%(360) y 18%(199) de los micropreparados en colección.
