Abstract

O Herbário IBGE possui atualmente 83.000 exsicatas, além de uma Carpoteca e Micoteca menores, com coletas principalmente das regiões com representatividade do Bioma Cerrado. Destaca-se por possuir uma grande coleção de gramíneas dos Cerrados brasileiros, além de abrigar mais de 390 tipos nomenclaturais. Atualmente, o Herbário IBGE está em processo avançado de informatização, utilizando o banco de dados do Sistema JABOT, e interligado ao Programa REFLORA, ambos do Instituto Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro, que já disponibiliza os dados e imagens do acervo no portal do Programa. O Projeto Flora do Brasil 2020 é parte integrante deste Programa e está sendo realizado com o apoio do Sistema de Informação sobre a Biodiversidade Brasileira (SiBBr). O intercâmbio contínuo com diversas instituições nacionais e internacionais permite o enriquecimento da coleção em número de espécimes e a determinação taxonômica.
