Abstract

La colección de Reptiles del Instituto de Investigación de Recursos Biológicos Alexander von Humboldt es una de las colecciones más grandes y diversas de reptiles en Colombia. Actualmente esta cuenta con cerca de 9363 especímenes catalogados y sistematizados, con una representatividad taxonómica que incluye 478 especies, equivalentes a cerca del 70 % de la diversidad reportada en el país, y ejemplares representantes de los 32 departamentos. La colección de Reptiles para el 2023 está representada por los tres órdenes presentes en el hemisferio occidental, distribuidos así: 1. Cocodrilos, con 6 especies equivalentes al 100 % de las especies reportadas para Colombia; 2. Testudines, con 34 especies, representando el 87 % de las especies reportadas para el país; y 3. Squamata, con 439 especies, representado cerca del 60 % de las especies reportadas para Colombia.La clasificación de los ejemplares sigue a The Reptile Database (http://reptile-database.reptarium.cz/advanced_search).
