Abstract

The dataset contains records of vascular plants collected in the Vilariça stream valley (Sabor sub-basin, NE Portugal) in the scope of the long-term Ecological Compensatory Measures Monitoring Program (PMC) of the Baixo Sabor Hydroelectric Dams (AHBS), promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A, to assess the temporal effects of the implementation of Compensatory Measure 1 (MC1): “Vilariça Stream Compensatory Habitat (vegetation component)”, namely the improvement (MC1.3) and the recovery (MC1.4) of the riparian gallery in the terminal stretch (2-5 kms) of the stream, following the dam construction. This dataset includes results of surveys made in ten sampling stations located along the Vilariça stream (downstream and upstream the new adduction system implemented in the stream and in several water lines of the Sabor sub-basin, from June 2015 to July 2020. To promote synergies, some control sites were used for other Compensatory Measures involving flora, vegetation and habitats (MC2, and MC3). Plant inventories were produced at each sampling site.
