Abstract

Base de datos de la colección histórica perteneciente al botánico menorquín Juan Joaquín Rodríguez Femenías (1839-1905) que alberga unos 4.000 registros de plantas vasculares correspondientes a unos 2.600 taxones diferentes recogidos entre los años 1811 y 1899, y conservados mediante deshidratación en formato de pliego. Buena parte de los ejemplares que constituyen la colección fueron recolectados por el propio Rodríguez Femenías entre los años 1860 y 1880 en las islas de Menorca y Mallorca y los Pirineos Oscenses, procediendo el resto de distintas partes del continente europeo y el Norte de África fruto del intercambio con otros botánicos de la época (Willkomm, Gandoger, Savi, Warion o Debeaux, entre otros). En la colección, completamente restaurada y tratada en 1994, resulta destacable la presencia de endemismos menorquines y de otras islas del Mediterráneo Occidental, así como de taxones vasculares de notable rareza exclusivos de la Cuenca del Mediterráneo. …La base de datos incluye tanto la información presente en los diferentes campos de las etiquetas originales como la ofrecida en las distintas revisiones hechas con posterioridad.Note: this dataset was previously orphaned.
