Abstract

El campus Meléndez de la Universidad del Valle (Santiago de Cali, Valle del Cauca) posee una gran diversidad de especies de plantas y fue declarado Jardín Botánico Universitario (JBU) en el año 2010 (Acuerdo 004 de 2010). Este estudio muestra que gran parte de la vegetación del campus es representativa del ecosistema de bosque seco tropical. Se registraron 5011 individuos con un DAP ≥ 10 cm correspondientes a 184 especies, 144 géneros y 50 familias. Las especies con mayor número de individuos fueron Mangifera indica y Pithecellobium dulce con 696 y 546 individuos respectivamente.
