The Avian Collection of the Coastal Forests at the National Museums of Kenya's Ornithology Section
Occurrence data from natural history collections are critical to understanding biodiversity change over time. The ornithology collection at National Museums of Kenya, holds over 30,000 specimens each carrying important information such as their occurrence across space and time. The data presented here is a portion of the bird collection housed in the Ornithology Section, Zoology department at the National Museums of Kenya. Here, we present a geo-referenced dataset of avian species collected from 1900 to 2022 which occurred in Kenyan Coastal Forests. The dataset contains 813 entries.
