Colecci?n de plantas vasculares del Herbario "Jaime Andr?s Rodr?guez". LEB

Abstract

En la d?cada de los a?os setenta se inicia la colecci?n de plantas que actualmente constituye el Herbario LEB ?Jaime Andr?s Rodr?guez? de la Universidad de Le?n. LEB fue en su origen una colecci?n de referencia sobre la flora vascular de la provincia de Le?n, nutri?ndose inicialmente de las jornadas de campo realizadas por el profesor Jaime Andr?s y sus colaboradores. La mayor?a de los espec?menes han sido colectados por los investigadores del ?rea de Bot?nica en el norte y noroeste de la Pen?nsula Ib?rica, principalmente, aunque tambi?n hay una importante representaci?n de otros lugares, peninsulares e insulares, que responden en parte a los intercambios que se mantienen con otros herbarios. Tras m?s de cuatro d?cadas de funcionamiento, este herbario ha ido creciendo, tanto en el n?mero de ejemplares depositados, como en el n?mero de colecciones que custodia. En la actualidad, adem?s de la colecci?n principal, constituida por plantas vasculares, LEB custodia una colecci?n de plantas procedentes de Brasil, adem?s de diferentes colecciones dedicadas a hongos, l?quenes, musgos, hep?ticas, semillas y diatomeas.
