HEPH - Herbário Ezechias Paulo Heringer

Abstract

O herbário Ezechias Paulo Heringer, antes pertencente à Fundação Zoobotânica, foi transferido em 1984 para o Jardim Botânico de Brasília. Seu nome é em homenagem ao seu fundador Prof. Ezechias Paulo Heringer, responsável pelas primeiras coletas depositadas no herbário. Em 1989, foi registrado no Index Herbariorum sob a sigla HEPH e desde 2008 está credenciado pelo CGEN/MMA como herbário fiel depositário. O acervo é formado por 30 mil amostras provenientes principalmente do bioma Cerrado, constituído em sua maioria por angiospermas e, por algas, briófitas e fungos. Conta também com uma carpoteca, xiloteca e palinoteca.
