Abstract

La Colección de Ornitología del Museo de Historia Natural de la Universidad de los Llanos, es la primera colección en la región de la Orinoquia, con registro nacional de colecciones No. 255 de mayo de 2020. Los primeros especímenes fueron depositados en el 2012 y actualmente tiene 679 especímenes, pertenecientes a 184 especies, principalmente de los departamentos del Meta y Casanare. También hay algunos especímenes de Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Santander y Guaviare. En el futuro la Colección de Ornitología-MHNU, permitirá aumentar el conocimiento de la diversidad de aves en la región de la Orinoquia y será vital para poder influir en las decisiones de manejo y para promover acciones de conservación.
