Abstract

El Herbario de Arizona y la CONABIO acordaron desde el 2000 repatriar datos de ejemplares de especímenes mexicanos albergados en dicho herbario para integrarlos al Sistema Nacional de Información sobre Biodiversidad (SNIB). Se llevaron a cabo dos estancias de investigación entre el 2002 y el 2003 por personal de la CONABIO para obtener imágenes digitales de 42, 287 ejemplares, cuyos datos fueron capturados en Biótica. Los datos repatriados corresponden a 132 familias de plantas siendo las más representativas Poaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Leguminosae, Compositae, Lamiaceae y Solanaceae, etc., correspondientes a 1,037 géneros y 5,674 especies. La mayoría de los especimenes fueron recolectados entre 1800 y 2002 e incluye 1949 ejemplares tipo. La CONABIO actualmente está realizando la georreferenciación de 10, 763 localidades de 29, 709 ejemplares que no cuentan con esa información.
