Floristic inventory and installation of permanent plots in the high conservation value forest of Agrimey, Lama and Djigbé
Office National du Bois (ONAB) manages approximately 14,011 ha of teak plantations in southern Benin, which annually produce approximately 50,000 m3 of wood placed on the international market. For this purpose, it has forest plantations in the Lama, Agrimey, Djigbé and Toffo Classified Forests. Within these plantations, there are patches of natural forests with variable area. The biggest area is the Central Core of the Lama classified forest which contains the last vestiges of natural forests in southern Benin. To evaluate the diversity of ecosystems and species in Lama, Agrimey, and Djigné, 136 plots including 11 permanent plots (with a size of 1ha each one) were installed.
