Catálogo sistemático de las superfamilias Mimallonoidea y Bombycoidea de México

Abstract

La acumulación de especimenes de Lepidoptera y la gran cantidad de información asociada con éstos demanda su organización empleando técnicas modernas de tal forma que pueda ser empleada y recuperada eficientemente. En México ya se han dado importantes avances en cuanto a las bases de datos de mariposas (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea), pero otros taxones apenas comienzan a ser sistematizados de esta forma. Como resultado directo de las bases de datos de Mimallonoidea y Bombycoidea se pretende producir los catálogos sistemáticos respectivos. La base de datos incluirá un total de 6,800 registros curatoriales (ejemplares), de aproximadamente 500 taxones (especies y subespecies) de las Superfamilias Bombycoidea (Bombycidae, Saturniidae, Sphingidae y Eupterotidae) y Mimallonoidea (Mimallonidae) recolectadas en más de 540 localidades de México. Al menos un 85% de las localidades han sido georreferenciadas. Como gestor de la información se está empleando el paquete ACCESS y el formato "Biótica".Reino: 1 Filo: 1 Clase: 1 Orden: 1 Familia: 6 Género: 98 Especie: 326 Epitetoinfraespecifico: 57
