Dataset credits: The U.S. Navy Marine Species Monitoring Program Abstract: Data in this dataset represent animal sightings and focal-follows for four days of Navy funded aerial, ship-follow surveys to identify, observe and document the presence and behavioral response of marine mammals and sea turtles in and around a sonar producing Navy ship. Surveys were conducted on 17 and 18 February in both years 2015 and 2016 off Kauai, in and around the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), within the Hawaii Range Complex (HRC). Manta ray in GIS data not included in report sightings totals. Work was performed under HDR task order KB28 (IDIQ contract award N62470-10-D-3011, NAVFACPAC).
