The “Crustacean copepods associated with Crinoida (Echinodermata)” dataset is based on publications. These dataset contains information about records from around the world. As of 14 February 2019, dataset consists of 496 records about 35 species of symbiotic copepods inhabiting on 30 species of sea lilies. 35 species of symbiotic copepods belong to 8 genera, 6 families and 3 orders. 30 species of sea lilies are represented by 22 genera and 11 families. The dataset comprises information on the taxonomy of hosts and symbionts, the number of symbionts per the host, the nature of the symbiosis, the sampling site, the depth, the date and method for detecting copepods, as well as the publication source. The dataset includes 49 collection sites around the world ocean. Collection sites apply to 21 countries. The largest number of records relates to the island of Madagascar - 59, Indonesia - 41, Australia - 15, New Caledonia - 13 and Israel - 12. All records are geolocated. Please note that the latitude and longitude values are used to create a 'bounding box' containing the region of interest. The accuracy of the coordinates depends on the detail of the geographic data indicated in the articles. 151 records have a date.
