CNE1, a Saccharomyces cerevisiae Homologue of the Genes Encoding Mammalian Calnexin and Calreticulin
and the calnexin gene of Cat1i.c do~)lestic~us (Wada et ul., 1991) was cloned serendipitously froni a genomic DNA library (Rose et ul., 1987). Tt contains an open reading frame of 1506 nucleotides encoding a pre- dicted gene product of 56.9 kDa.
