The call for sustainability is eminent for the flower bulb industry. Alternative methods and techniques will be developed and investigated in the coming years to reduce chemical biocontrol agents. One example is the application of biostimulants. The impact of these products have to be assessed for soil biodiversity and plant health. The project objective is to develop soil resistance and health indices based on metagenomics analysis of bulbs and soil. We want to stake these DNA-based measurements as a basis for recommendations for the application of biostimulants in the sustainable cultivation of tulips.
