In the year 2021 and 2022, the National Science Agenda for Sports & Exercise has been further implemented and widened its scope to a societal perspective, under the title “Science Opens up to Society”. Three ‘Roadmaps 2030’ are now in further build-up. The Roadmaps 2030 are: 1. Healthy Generation; 2. Exercise as Medicine, and; 3. Moving Smarter and Better. These Roadmaps are now in a phase of participatory events (e.g. sandpit, hackathon with users/citizens, etc.) that are held not at university or campus sites but “in society” near and with relevant stakeholders (co-creation). These multi-stakeholder consortia will target a wider network of stakeholders and citizens (quadruple helix). The Roadmaps bring together science (what is effective?), practice based knowledge (what works in and for practice? (special target groups)), practice (what works in real-life?), systemic transformational knowledge (how can the system be changed?) and technology and data (how can change be supported or accelerated?). For 2023, the current activities will be continued, accelerated, and expanded on a strategic and operational level with a focus on increasing the participation of young researchers, creating sustainable business models and valorization of knowledge.
