Climate change stresses, urbanization and intensive growth along with unsustainable production collectively pose huge risks on water and food security in the Asian Mega-Deltas. There is a need to create inclusive transition pathways while actively engaging with local stakeholders involved. The Senior Expert will focus initially on Bangladesh, with comparative analyses and interventions in other deltas, and work in close cooperation with AMD (and its successor), the Climate Impact Area Platform, WUR, CGIAR and other researchers. The proposal outcome will enable making a switch in policy making processes towards more bottom-up water and food system transitions in deltas.
