United Schools in Music

Description

Music is a universal language and has been used in many ways to bring together people and nations. At present European countries are witnessing a revival in musical talent shows on TV. This shows us that there is still a demand for Young Talents to express themselves in Music. Our project tries to improve their musical, social and digitals skills.* United Schools in Music (USM) is multilingual. We will encourage language learning through the use of four languages with our project dictionary.* USM is a motivator. Because of the possibility of travelling, large scale performances, media coverage and our project DVD students will be attracted to play in a school band. * USM is united. The project actively brings together students from very different parts of Europe and encourages communication in all project languages. We will also include students with low study skills in our project. Teamwork across borders and the use of online Tools, like e-Twinning will increase a variety of skills. * USM is visible and audible. Due to its outcomes (a DVD, online repository for sheet music, website and multilingal participants presentation) the project's ideal and performances can be easily disseminated and therefore reach and touch many other students, schools and communities. We will also produce a set of project results, tailored for the use inside schools: We will compose a project song. All students are invited to bring in their creativity and music talent. We will put special emphasis on the lyrics. They should encourage the students to express their thoughts about culture, livestyle and social issues. This project song and background information will be recorded and published via Internet and DVD. We will also produce multilingual participants presentations with detailed Information about the participating countries/schools including general information, school system, history, music and arts, social life, etc. We will bring all sheet music, including music and video samples of our project participants online. This repository will be taylored for school bands and their needs. The concept of encouraging students with low study skills is nowadays more important than ever. We will gain experience on hot to include these students inside the project. All project results, photos, videos and lessons learned will be published on e-Twinning and Erasmus Plus project result platform, school websites and local press. Our project addresses the topicscreativity and culture: Meeting other project participants from different countries, composing and recording Songs, using different languages is one of the best creativity Boosts we can offer our Young students and teachersEarly school leaving, combaiting failure in education. We will try our best to better understand students with low study skills in order to correct failures in education, open their minds for an open Europe and thus Prevent them from leaving school (too) early. Our objectives support our selected priorities:Especially students with low study skills are in danger of leaving School (too) early. Our Concept will help us to better support these special students in future. Using modern ICT-Tools in a multinational project in a real environment is the best way to really understand the meaning and use of innovative practices in a digital era. All project participants will be suported to learn basic skills during the project. From technical to social, even language skills will be aquiring and developed.
