"“E. L.E.A.RNING. - European schooL practicEs for teAching and leaRNING of maths” was designed to identify and to share methodologies for the teaching and learning of the scientific subjects declared by the European Commission essential for personal fulfillment, active citizenship, social inclusion and employability in the society of knowledge of the 21st century. It was born, also, considering the learning difficulties encountered by the students that are attending a course in one of the partner schools and how these difficulties are common in many other European schools. For this purpose E. L.E.A.RNING. will use both online activities and mobilities activities. More specifically, the project will include the implementation of the following educational activities: 1 training event totally addressed to 8 teachers (2 per partner school) to analyze laboratories and / or innovative teaching methodologies able to favor the learning of technical-scientific disciplines; 8 CLASSROOM MEETINGS in which each school autonomously will prepare the participants to face the themes of the project. The first meeting will be used to prepare the presentation of the school that will be shared with other schools, the next 5 meetings, will be used to prepare the activities to be carried out during mobility (as it can be seen from the description of learning each national group will be responsible for the preparation of specific activities) and to reflect on the concepts learned. Finally, meetings 7 and 8 will be used to prepare the presentation activity for student of years3rd and 4th. 6 VIRTUAL MEETINGS, realized through the eTwinning platform, which will address a total of 60 students (15 per school) of the third and fourth classes. The first two meetings were conceived as moments in which the students will be able to get to know each other and deepen the school system present in the other countries, while the next four will provide a suitable preparation to face the mobility; 4 mobility that will be based on the relations of the mathematics with other disciplines (mathematical applications in robotics, relations between Mathematics and Biology, use of mathematics in art, and the link between mathematics and music) and will be structured in order to exploit the concept of ""peer to peer education"". The project will have a direct impact on the participants (teachers and students) and on the schools. Teachers will be able to learn different educational systems from the one in which they teach. Thanks to the preparation received before the mobility (made up of a linguistic and cultural training) and to the mobility, moreover, they will have the possibility to improve their linguistic, informatics, didactic and cultural skills, learning innovative teaching methodologies suitable to stimulate learning of scientific subjects. Finally, for them the knowledge of other colleagues, will be an opportunity to start new collaborations at international level. Students will improve their knowledge in mathematics, reflecting and becoming aware of how this discipline apparently abstract actually finds application in numerous other contexts of daily life. In addition for them, the analysis carried out on professional outcomes related to scientific studies will be important, since it can be considered as a first job orientation activity. E. L.E.A.RNING will also represent an opportunity to meet peers of other nationalities with whom to discover new cultures and communicate in a foreign language. The expected results on the students are actually summarized in the following points: - Increase of 5% of the results (votes) achieved in mathematics; - Improvement of language skills (expects an improvement in the ability to communicate in English in 50% of participants). In the medium to long term, educational institutions will be able to make use of the new skills acquired by teachers to start a renewal of their training offer. Finally, at a European level, the project intends to make its contribution (albeit minimal) in the way of considering mathematical knowledge, which must be perceived not only from a technical-operative point of view, as a calculation and application of rules, but as an activity. of human thought present in many more areas of everyday life than normally we believe."
