Description

Both Europe and the world face challenges related to climate change&the Industrial Revolution 4.0.In response,EU's ambition is to build an economy that is at the same time low-carbon,circular,entrepreneurial&digital.That is related to changing the way we think - through education for safeguarding the valuable natural resources and making full use of their economic value,guaranteeing sustainable development and green growth for the generations to come.In this regard,after a number of online meetings for exchange of experience&ideas held in English,the innovative Private School“Tzar Simeon Veliki”,together with “PBL Institute”, Lithuania - with expertise in the implementation and development of project/problem-based learning,and “EcoCenter”,Hungary - linking environmental&education issues,have initiated this project entitled:Development of Eco-Entrepreneurship competences for Green and Personal Growth.The target group for the project are:on the one hand students in lower secondary school (12-15 years) and on the other:lower secondary school teachers and natural science teachers.The main objective of the project is to create an innovative methodology helping natural science teachers to form key competences among students from the upper-secondary education level related to entrepreneurship in the field of environmental education through active transnational cooperation and transfer of innovative practices. As a result, they will be able to address a given environmental problem/need through entrepreneurial ideas.Specific objectives are:*Creating an integrative,interdisciplinary methodology for the formation and integration of entrepreneurial skills in a specific context of training,related to ecology and environmental protection*Supporting the career development of professionals working in the field of natural sciences,in order to stimulate innovation and improve the quality of teaching and work with students*Improving the level of key competences and transversal skills through PBL and non-formal learning methods that place the student at the center of the educational process*Developing the design of a complete learning process,based on the developed methodology, for preparation for students in upper secondary education*Developing content design,learning activities and resources for organizing innovative eco-entrepreneurial training*Assessment of the applicability of the innovative methodology and dissemination of the results achieved in other school subjects*Transfer of innovative approach and tools to support the formation of eco-entrepreneurial competences of trainees,including through adaptation,pilot implementation, evaluation&dissemination of results*Preparatory and organizational part; transnational meeting:10/2020*Analytical and training part:*C1:Short-term joint training event for staff:04/2021*C2:Training for high-school and natural-science teachers:07/2021*C3: Short-term joint training event for staff:07/2022*Elaboration of intellectual outputs related to the development of:-Compilation book of good educational practices for eco-entrepreneurship education in the field of ecology and biodiversity conservation-Innovative integrative,interdisciplinary methodology for the formation and integration of entrepreneurial skills in a specific context of training related to ecology&environmental protection,and related tools-Methodological guide for teachers on the formation of eco and entrepreneurial skills through PBL-Tutorial for students in secondary school for innovative eco-entrepreneurship training-Educational online platform-Educational videos*Pilot implementation of the innovative methodology and its inclusion in the curriculum of Private School Tzar Simeon Veliki for2021/2022*Analysis and dissemination of results,including through project multiplier events-E1-E4:11/2022-01/2023*Final reportThe choice of priorities and the project idea are based on:*a thorough analysis of the needs of teachers and the school, which are foreseen in its Innovative Strategy;*the European Commission's ambition for a greener Europe and:*Europe 2020 Strategy for smart and sustainable growth*The New Skills Agenda for Europe*EU Youth Strategy 2019 and the 3/11Youth Goals on which it is based,developed during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU,related to: Sustainable Green Europe,Quality Learning and Employment*The Paris Agreement on Climate Change 2015*Key Competencies5/8:Communication in Native&Foreign Languages;STEM with an emphasis on basic Natural Science knowledge;Initiative and Entrepreneurship;Learning to learn*EntreComp:the EC Framework for Entrepreneurial Competence,presenting entrepreneurship as a transversal skill containing competencies*The European pillar of social rights’*Eurobarometer data(2018),where young Europeans indicate that the EU's top priorities should be:education&skills (50%+);behavioural change through eco-friendly initiatives(40%)*European Green Deal 2030
