Start up Business Entrepreneurial of Inactive Women and Housewives Through Handicraft Skills

Description

Start up Business Entrepreneurial of Inactive Women and Housewives Through Handicraft Skills project is designed and created to support the women self-employment and other employment opportunities through improving the handicraft skills of the participants with the training courses organized in Turkey, Lithuania, Italy and Portugal, as well to provide a wider target group with online handicraft video training courses and online teacher community discussion portal. The project is based on 3 Transnational Meetings, 4 Training Courses in partner countries, Online Open Course (IO1) and Online Teacher Community (IO2) and other project activities such as dissemination activities and multiplier events. 1 coordinator and 3 partner organizations involved in the project sent 6 participants to each training course. The participants are carefully selected among the unemployed volunteer female adult handicraft learners at partner organizations. All project activities including the task distribution, planning of the training courses, enriching the content of training courses, multiplier events, intellectual outputs and dissemination were discussed and updated during the 3 transnational meetings in partner countries. The participants gained and improved their 3D Paper Folding, Home Textile Products, Jewellery and Accessories, and Ceramics&Pottery handicraft skills during the training courses. The project has a great impact on the self-employment of the participants as expected during the project period. One of the participants started her own online business. With this online marketing she is now selling various handicraft products as well as complementary accessories and goods. Another participant also started to market her handicraft products through different channels. One of the participants also started to sell her products and she even started to support the children with fewer opportunities. The other participants are also expected to start their own business or earn a living. Another impact of the project is the visibility of the traditional arts, specially Ottoman Kati Art, increased and started to become popular. The exhibition that was organized during the multiplier event was visited by many other people, as well as the participants. In the longer term, this visibility impact is expected to increase as the project products will continue to be available both on the project web site and the youtube channel.
