<< Objectives >>The JeS project (Joint eStories: Journeys from Fear to Fair) addresses the social responsibility of the higher education institutions to promote human rights and the awareness of the urgent European challenges of trafficking in humans, forced labour, undocumented migrants and the need for fair trade policies by giving space in their curricula to the voices of those individuals within the EU whose stories are often not included in the main social narrative and who often suffer silently.<< Implementation >>The JeS project focuses on co-creating an innovative and open online learning environment that brings together from different parts of Europe higher education institutions and NGOs, teachers, educators, students and migrants for shared learning, educational events, and workshops. These activities promote dialogue and intercultural encounters and make the above-mentioned human rights situations in Europe visible and more tangible and included in higher education and other educational activities.<< Results >>The JeS project results include the open co-created online learning environment, a platform with human rights research and personal eStories, and it also provides a toolkit, workshops and online edu events for teachers and educators to support the usage of the JeS materials. By innovatively emphasizing intercultural dialogue between actors in higher education and NGOs, migrants included, the JeS project strongly promotes social and cultural sustainability, inclusion, peace and a fairer society.
