iAware - Innovative Program for Digital Education of Adults

Description

"The iAware project is implemented by the Partnership of three organizations from Poland, Portugal and Italy and is the answer to the jointly diagnosed problem of insufficient ICT competence among adults. This problem results from the lack of modern education programs that transcend content beyond learning the skills of standard device handling and the use of network resources. Thus, the project meets contemporary challenges related to the development of the Internet and responds to the need to raise ICT competences among adults in the current Internet reality. The objectives of the project are:•Creation of a modern adult ICT education program that takes into account contemporary challenges in the field of Internet security and the conscious use of global network resources.•Providing ICT trainers and adult educators with the right tools, knowledge base and skills to shape attitudes among adults in the conscious use of modern technologies.•Improving the ICT competences of adults in the EU and building an information society.Support will cover the following categories of participants:•Experts - from 2 to 4 people from each Partner country (8-10 people) with a minimum of 2 years of expert experience in their field. They will be specialists in such fields as, among others: teaching methodology, adult training, including ICT training, cyber-security, new media and digital culture, multimedia technologies, training techniques, creation of educational materials.•ICT trainers / educators for adults - 4 people from each partner country - a total of 12 people working with adults on an everyday basis, conducting trainings in the field of raising broadly defined ICT competences. They will be people who cooperate with partner organizations.•Participants of dissemination workshops - adults representing such entities as, among others: adult training institutions, NGO's working for adult education, employers, local government units, universities of the third age.The most important actions taken to achieve the planned effects include:•Work on the results in international interdisciplinary teams of experts, including international project meetings of staff and experts aimed at developing high quality products that meet the standards set by the Partnership institutions.•Testing developed methods and tools during international training of trainers (12 people), that will support the transfer of knowledge and give the opportunity to verify the quality of results in practice and make necessary corrections and updates.•Conducting dissemination workshops for at least 90 adults (in each country the workshops will cover at least 30 people).•Further dissemination - reaching interested organizations, institutions, people, will increase the chances of widespread use of results. All the project activities have been designed to contribute to the overarching objective (in line with the European Commission's policy), which is to raise the competences of key ICT competences among adults in the EU and to build an information society. This will happen thanks to the creation of a modern adult ICT education program that takes into account the contemporary Internet challenges (both threats and opportunities). The results of intellectual work developed within the framework of the project are:•O1 - Modular Digital Competences Training Program ""iAware"" - a training program developed in a practical and functional way, with five thematic modules that take into account issues related to online threats, their identification and counteraction, active participation in the information society, conscious use of information and communication technologies.•O2 - Educational platform ""iAware"" - an Internet application where other project results will be made available in digital form. It will enable trainers to conduct trainings in an attractive way, using multimedia dedicated to individual modules. Also individuals who want to improve their competences in the field of conscious use of ICT will be able to use it, since it’s an open source tool.•O3 - Methodological guide with instructions for the trainer - Instructions for the use of tools for ICT trainers and educators working with adults published in the form of an e-book. It will focus on comprehensive and substantive support for the development of trainers in the areas of competence of the most demanding interventions, in relation to the problems and needs diagnosed in the project. The Partnership will ensure the further functioning of the online platform with downloadable materials available on it. Free access of users to materials will be maintained also after the end of the project. The platform will be supported by the functioning of profiles on social networking sites. The results of intellectual work will be used in other projects and initiatives undertaken by the applicant and partner organizations.Partner organisations:•EURO-FORUM, POL•PRISM, ITA•COFAC, POR"
