"<< Background >>The ICE Project - Informal Civic Education - aims to recreate ""learning communities for adults"" on Civic practices and issues. The pandemic has increased the loneliness of adults, men and women, who have lived the emergency phases and access to information in isolation and at a distance.The communities have shown themselves to be interconnected and linked on an economic, health, environmental, cultural level, as well as geographical borders and in need of learning and socializing. Communications with social networks have increased, updates with webinars and thematic blogs, but the gap between those who master social networks and those who are excluded, those who access information and those who have difficulty understanding it, those who have shown themselves resilient and those who have known psychic distress due to a lack of human relationships have also increased.Together with the need for learning and updating on the issues of health, legality, participation and the environment, the need for aggregation, encounter and intergenerational solidarity has strengthened.On the other hand, grassroots associations and recreational clubs have suffered from the suspension of activities, the reduction of staff, and the closures that have sacrificed the historical places of cultural construction, intergenerational practices and non-formal and informal learning. of adults.The grassroots associations, people's homes and cultural centers for adults located throughout Italy, Spain, Austria, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Germany, are historic meeting places for learning centers united by the themes of legality, social inclusion and democratic growth.These centers can be re-oxygenated by new audiences heterogeneous in terms of age and origin who want to share the common values ​​of democracy through the knowledge of the services and tools that underpin it, producing knowledge and experiences of Civic Education.The ICE Project aims to enhance the learning centers for adults by promoting new activities, in the contents and methods to be used, starting from civic and participatory themes. Civic Education is among the priorities of European and national educational plans for the coming years as a tool for integration between multicultural communities. However, the teaching of Civic Education remains limited to formal courses in compulsory schools and taught with traditional topics and methods, in the classroom and in books - Eurydice Report Education for Citizenship in Europe - 2017 and not on the places where it was born and where the Constitution is applied. Civic themes can be the ""glue"" to re-aggregate generations by reactivating the basic association centers with informal, innovative and inclusive attractive activities.<< Objectives >>The ICE project proposes to:1-develop a learning MODEL for adults on the issues of Civic Education aimed at adults thanks to- the development of training materials on key competences to be active citizens;- the creation of a network of educational institutions, recreational clubs and cultural associations, which supports and stimulates adult education on Civic Education issues;- the active participation of the third age both as teacher and as user of the courses;- the creation of structured training courses in blended mode, face to face and remotely, on the issues of Legality, Health, Financial Education, Environmental Education, in line with the development objectives of the 2030 Agenda;2-use INFORMAL and interactive methodologies such as on-site study visits to Associations, Organizations and Public Offices to learn how the main institutions of our communities work and what they are for; creation of civic games, to stimulate relationships and learning, with a view to ""Service Learning"", with and for the community; educational learning walks in civic places and adult mobility abroad in order to compare learning methods and European civic systems.3-create OERs multilingual civic education online training modules in Open Educational Resources format on the basic skills of the macro themes of Justice, Environment, Health and Economics.This approach will allow to:* Personalize active citizenship training courses for adults, in order to know and learn about local and international history and legislation, common values ​​and cultures;* Actively involve adults and the elderly in experimenting with innovative inclusion paths;* Enhance the places of culture and popular education to encourage creative activities of integration and socialization of local and international communities.<< Implementation >>The project will implement the following activities: PRODUCTION OF INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS such as:-Development of a TOOLKIT on the skills necessary for adults in Civic Education, in particular for a target of adults and seniors, to develop the Health, Economic, Environmental and Legal Systems, translated into 5 Languages: English, Italian, Greek, Spanish and German-Creation of OERs, online courses on topics dealt with in person, such as Justice, Economy, Health and the Environment, in Open format, available to all on the partners' websites and social networks for a total of 12 Educational OERs Civic of which 1 on informal teaching for adults (minimum 2 OERs per partner)-Construction of paper-based Civic Games on the issues addressed in Civic Education that provide knowledge in a simple and captivating way, reach sectors of the community where the issues are little dealt with,-- The ICE project website as a repository of the materials and activities carried out and an area for disseminating the resultsandINFORMAL AND NON FORMAL LEARNING activities such as:-Creation of face-to-face COURSES on the issues of Justice, Health, Financial Education and Environmental Education, from a local and European perspective. The courses will be held in the associative meeting places of citizens, clubs, after work, which are not only spaces for aggregation but also laboratories of civic citizenship and intercultural encounters.-International mobility of staff and learners in Germany to learn about socialization centers, compare education systems and compare non-formal and informal learning methods related to learning civic sense through visits to places of memory and thematic in-depth workshops- Educational visits to institutions, associations, cooperatives to get to know places and community stakeholders- Events for the dissemination of results in itinerant and intergenerational mode to visit the places of the Constitution or the historical places of the communities-Creation of local and international NETWORKS of actors, associations and institutions engaged in the issues of civic engagement in our communitiesThe METHODOLOGY used will be active, participatory, in a ""Service Learning"" perspective in which the beneficiaries will be protagonists of the various phases of the project, developing skills and supportive behaviors useful for the community<< Results >>The results produced by the project will be tangible and intangible.TANGIBLE:-Development of a TOOLKIT on the skills necessary for adults in Civic Education,-Creation of COURSES in presence at the headquarters of the associative circles on the themes of Justice, Health, Financial Education and Environmental Education,-Construction of paper Civic GAMES on the issues addressed in Civic Education-Creation of 12 OERs, online courses on topics dealt with in person, such as Justice, Economy, Health and the Environment, in Open format,-Creation of local and international NETWORKS of actors, associations and institutions engaged in the issues of civic engagement of natives and non-natives in our communities- MOBILITY of learning adults to learn about socialization centers and compare education systems in other countries- creation of a SITOWEB dedicated to the project as a repositiry of the learning pathsNON-TANGIBLE Results:- To deepen the themes of democratic participation through an INTERGENERATIONAL approach- Responding to the NEEDS of adults and the elderly to update themselves on the key issues of the local and national regulatory, financial, environmental and health systems, how they work and how to orient themselves on the territory- to know the PLACES, organizations, institutions, witnesses and actors that make up and animate our communities- develop INFORMAL learning tools such as educational visits, memory walks, thematic excursions, interviews with relevant witnesses, active participation in the organization of seminars, the use of board games, the use of new technologies for stimulate and involve the beneficiaries of the actions- use of an active and participatory methodology-to enhance the grassroots associations such as CENTERS of learning, of culture and civic sense production- AWARENESS citizens to participate in activities in person, at a distance or through board games, on the issues of the Environment, Legality, Economy and Health- COMPARE national systems, tools and practices of civic participation in Italy, Spain, Austria, Cyprus and Germany."
