Sustainable food for green minds.

Description

"<< Background >>""Sustainable food for green minds"" Erasmus+ cooperation partnership project aims are relevant to Erasmus+ Programme horizontal and adult education priorities. Project partners will exchange good practices and experiences, improving the competences of educators and other adult education staff what is priority of adult education. Environment and climate action are key priorities for the EU now and in the future. The European Green Deal Communication is the European new growth strategy and recognises the key role of schools, training institutions and universities to engage with pupils, parents, and the wider community on the changes needed for a successful transition to become climate neutral by 2050. https://ec.europa.eu/info/strategy/priorities-2019-2024/european-green-deal_en Partners discussed Programme priorities and decided that promotion of sustainable food, healty lifestyle and culture of food are very important now. New competences in these areas are always needed and particularly when people are in lock down and have to care about health and eat healthy food. Partners will incorporate green practices in the project through an environmental-friendly approach when designing the activities, which will encourage to discuss and learn about environmental issues, to reflect about local actions and to come up with alternative greener ways of implementing activities. The main method will be learning-by-doing, so it will allow to develop new competences and experience learning process not only from presentations, lectures and books but also from practical cooking together. Communication during the cooking process will help partners to collaborate better and gain more support from each other. Cooking and eating is a way to bring people together through one of the things we all enjoy most: sharing a good meal. Project partners seeks to provide advice on sourcing healthy, nutritious, local food, marrying this together with the cuisine of the different national groups, using the results as a way to foster integration and understanding, responsible and sustainable production and consumption. This project will reinforce links between different stakeholders, promote innovative practices by supporting personalized learning approaches, collaborative learning innovative methods. Participants will increase competencies, reinforce creativity and cooperation with partners<< Objectives >>This Erasmus+ project involves institutions and organisations from Poland, Austria, Estonia, France, Italy and the Netherlands with different experiences in green sector and adult education. Partners will share good practices, collect them and create innovative E-Book with original receipts. The ingredients for the dishes will be mainly from the vegetable gardens that will be created by educators and learners. Special activities will be organised for the capacity building of organisations and exchange of good practices with the aim to support educators to gain new competences. The project objectives are:* promote cooperation, quality, inclusion and equity, excellence, creativity and innovation at the level of organisations in the field of education and training;* exchange good practices between different institutions working in adult education and create E-Book for teaching and learning;* improve the competences and professional level of adult educators;* promote non-formal and informal learning and involve adult learners in different ages to the project activities.Partners plan to increase capacity to operate at transnational level, share ideas of different food cultures, practices and methods based on sustainable food production and consumption. Partners are interested to reinforce intercultural dialogue and because of that will involve to the project participants with different cultural and social backgrounds: ethnic and national minorities, migrants and refugees, representatives of different religions, etc. with the aim to share European diversity and common European values. The main target group in this project consist of staff members and educators (more than 20 participants). Adult learners will also participate in local and dissemination activities (more than 300), including elderly people and participants with fewer opportunities. Associated partners and other stakeholders will be involved in dissemination activities during face-to-face and virtual events, also by use of media and social media (more than 1000).Partners will discuss the different backgrounds and difficulties affecting disadvantaged groups in Europe and particular in project partners' countries and regions, whether this is with newly arrived refugees, long term unemployed or migrants from other countries and will involve these people to the project activities.<< Implementation >>Project activities will include: • four transnational meetings for exchange of good practices; • local meetings and activities;• two international training courses for staff members; • collecting learning materials for E-book; • monitoring and evaluation process; • dissemination of project information and results. Work with cooking and healthy ingredients from own vegetable gardens and methods of cooking on modern kitchens will support developing of educators' new competences. Than they will teach adult learners in different ages to learn how to cook healthy food. Participants of these workshops will calculate prices and weight of ingredients and improve mathematical skills. They will film cooking process on video and improve digital skills. Workshops and trainings will support intercultural and intergenerational education because partners will involve to the project people with different cultural and social backgrounds and in different age, focus will be on the transfer of forgotten traditions from grandparents to children and grandchildren. Partners will have in focus inclusion of seniors in the project activities from one side and learn how to attract young people to agriculture from other side.Such approach will enrich participants of this project and make it attractive for educators, learners and general public. Partners will upload video and photos about training, about vegetable gardens and cooking process on Facebook and YouTube that highlight the potency of combining verbal and visual methods in adult education. These materials will be not only about sustainable food but also about people, countries and their cultures, how they select seeds, plant them and take care about sustainable growing and harvesting process. Moreover, there will be attractive dissemination activities for all involved in the project, associated partners and also other stakeholders and wider audience. Project partners will raise awareness about Europe 2020 strategy, the European Green Deal Communication, Sustainable Development Goals and Erasmus+ Programme on the international level. The desired impact of the project will go beyond its lifetime and beyond this project partners organisations towards wider general audience<< Results >>The main result of this project will be development and improvement of educators' competences and creation of new learning opportunities for adult learners. Creating an environment of inclusive learning and using friendly and relaxing atmosphere will help in the acquisition of competences of educators, adult learners and particularly elderly groups of people. Educators will have training in the field of adult education and as a result, they will be able to use the learning approach in all potentials to strengthen the self-protective competencies. There will be intangible results:- exchange ofexperience among staff at European level; - enhanced of intercultural competences for the staff and learners; - acquisition of new ICT skills when working with video and photos; - acquisition of new communication, foreign languages, mathematical and other skills when work on cooking; - long life learning network of partners and other stakeholders involved to the project at local, national and European level; - increased EU project management competencies. Tangible results: - E-book with learning materials about sustainable food; - video and photos about the training; - promotional materials (project logo, leaflet, poster, press realise, information for social media, Facebook page, etc). During the project participants will come up with entirely new knowledge and skills which they will have the chance to get through a feedback thus being trained and sufficiently prepared for own workshops. This project will open up certain topics that are closely related to participants’ professional and personal environments. In this way, the participants will get much new experience but that they will also understand some concepts of adult education and eco learning and specific of offline and online education. On the side, participants will acquire useful online materials related adult education, in parallel through specific activities they will broaden both their contacts and networks. At a personal level, the participants will develop themselves as individuals and creative educators. In this way the partners' institutions and organisations and local communities will have a clear benefit, but also the educators themselves will benefit as well, since they will become more creative and active in teaching/ learning. Through project Facebook page all the members of the participating organisations will have the opportunity to exchange material, practices, experiences that falls within their area of interest, such as e-articles, e-videos, e-forums, e-audios and recommendations. Through a variety of specially designed activities, starting from theoretical learning about sustainable food till practical work in small gardens and cooking and collecting good practices in the project E-Book, this cooperation partnership project will have long-term impact on all involved. Project materials and particularly E-Book will be available in digital form for use to wider audience. The open access to this materials will enable partners to inform other educators on local, national and European level about the project materials that can be used as good practices not only in project partners' organisations but also in other adult education providers and other educational organisations. This will make sustainability of E-Book after the EU funding."
