The multiplication of mobility programmes, announced in the framework of the upcoming Erasmus+ agenda requires these programmes to adapt and widen the welcoming measures, and more specifically the housing: this will lead to a more inclusive mobility toward students with disabilities, scholarships students, and trainees. In parallel, the European population, particularly the elders, is suffering from an increasing loneliness and isolation feeling.The European project Toit+Moi fits perfectly with this adaptation need: it aims at widening and amplifying a pilot version of a shared intercultural and intergenerational housing platform developed by the consortium partners since 2017.Main goal of the project:Taking part in the strengthening of the students’ mobility stakeholders by providing a shared housing and intergenerational connection service in Europe. Specific objectives:>>Strengthen the proximity partnerships between higher education institutions and intergenerational and intercultural integration and housing structures-Gathering a precise knowledge and overview, providing tools and encouraging collaborations-Promoting, highlighting and boosting these collaborations for a better recognition and acknowledgment of their added value in public policies, at a local, national and international scale-Encourage the university social responsibility regarding their role and involvement in the community life (ease the elders’ loneliness and isolation)>>Improve the mobility students welcome with an affordable and educative housing service.Reducing the mobility students’ financial obstacles to housing.Improving the access to a quality housing solution, prior to the mobility.Improving the international students’ integration in the local community to avoid the “Erasmus Bubble”.Impulse the civic and social skills acquisition of international students in a multicultural and intergenerational environment (learning languages and discovering new cultures)Target groups-mobility students in their diversity (scholarships, trainees, students with disabilities-higher education institutions and shared housing and integration platform-public structures that influence the law and policies implemented within the higher education frameWith a European network of universities (European University Foundation), a French network of international students integration organisations (ESN France), a French network of intergenerational shared housing (CoSI-Cohabitation Solidaire Intergénérationnelle), a Spanish organisation (Solidarios) that implemented more than 3000 intergenerational shared housing pairs, a Belgian organisation (1Toit2Ages) with more than 2000 pairs locally, and the French national pensions coordinator (CNAV), we collectively develop these activities:Two studies mapping the links between universities and intergenerational and intercultural links stakeholders, in different national, political and juridical contexts, and analysing levers for a better development of these links.·An intergenerational and intercultural links memento, listing structures and practices available locally and showing their impact·A training and its kit, providing tools to stakeholders for better practices, helping new structures·A recommendations booklet, to impulse policies toward a greater development of intergenerational and intercultural linksEventually, Toit+Moi will have the following impact:·22 countries reached by the deliverables, 150 new structures involved·40000+ persons reached about the project via social medias· 500+ monthly visits on the platform, 2000+ registrationsThus, this project will reach numerous students and favour a quality welcome by providing an innovative support. This tool will disseminate durably in the international mobility frame as Toit+Moi will be the connection of collaborations from universities and structures integrating seniors and mobility students. By linking structures with complementary actions, the project will disseminate easily in Europe. ESN France will be supported by a network of 520+ pan-european organisations, and 700+ universities thanks to its partners.Toit+Moi is a project federating international mobility, intergenerational, intercultural structures in Europe, that strengthen international mobility on one side, internationalise the daily life on the other: two essential aspects when witnessing a European tendency toward nationalism. Faced with this crucial concern, it will encourage intercultural exchanges and impulse a European citizenship.
