"EYFET (Empowering Youth for Ecological Transition) is an environmental project coordinated by Concello de Porrino (Spain) in partnership with IES Ribeira do Louro (Spain), Associacao Portuguesa de Educacao Medioambiental - ASPEA (Portugal) Universidade de Cabo Verde and Associacao de Educacao de Jovens e Adultos de Nampula - ASEJANA.The aim of the project is to foster environmental education amongst youngsters and youth workers, improving their knowledge and capacities against the challenges posed by the current climate emergency. EYFET divides in two phases:1- ""The environment around you"". This first part of the project will be focused on youth workers, with the objective of providing them with tools to analyse and assess the environmental state-of the art, and the actions/good practices that can be implemented at local and regional level in different sectors identified as key: institutions, local businesses, industry and community. The acquisition of this scientific-based knowledge would empower youth workers to elaborate effective and fact-based awareness actions in the environmental field, involving key stakeholders from the local and regional community.2- ""You & the environment"". This second part of the project will be focused on youth, with the objective of providing them with the knowledge and tools to analyse environmental related facts and be able to discern through fake news and greenwashing practices. From this point, youngsters will get involved in direct action through awareness activities designed and carried out by themselves, being able this way, to act as agents of change. Throughout the project several intellectual outputs are to be produced, highlighting, 4 state-of-the-art reports, a guide of environmental good practices, workshops and training sessions, 4 awareness campaigns, OER's related to the content of the project and media material. The learning outcomes will be available through our website under creative commons license for free use.The main goals to be achieved can be divided in 4 points: - Implement a methodology to analyse the environmental state-of-art at regional level and develop a meaningful mapping.- Create a good practices manual for individuals, public institutions and private industries and companies- Elaborate a comparative analysis in order to identify good practices and implement a transfer of knowledge in those areas of expertise amongst the partners.- Raise awareness on about environmental challenges and engage the whole community into green steps to mitigate climate change.- Empower local institutions and NGO’s to develop cooperation actionsWith EYFET we aim to provide a tool for change, a different approach to foster the environmental conscious and knowledge, for youth and society in general, in order to generate a real impact. EYFET is a project to break down myths, highlight the environmental challenges and search for common solutions and cooperation to tackle a global problem"
