Through Entrepreneurship Education towards improving the quality of VET

Description

The purpose of this project was to support ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION in VET, EQF 3 in countries involved (CR, AT, LV, PT). According to the Lisbon strategy for growth and employment and Entrepreneurship 2020 Action Plan, issued in 2013, Europe needs to stimulate entrepreneurial mindsets among young people. Education in countries involved pays attention to entrepreneurship education especially in secondary schools with economic focus so far. The 2006 European Framework on Key Competences for LLL supports the acquisition of key competences including entrepreneurship competences and transversal skills such as creativity and critical thinking by all young people. We have focused on promoting this idea at VET schools and have supported the acquisition of those competences especially by pupils in EQF 3 level. First of all, it recommended, in terms of creativity, innovation and risk-bearing capacity to plan and manage projects. Sense is also in changing attitudes to entrepreneurship such as with all social, commercial and political aspects, especially in Eastern European economies. Our project encouraged exchange of experiences as well developing corresponding intellectual outputs in the area of the entrepreneur education. Effective and enthusiastic teachers/trainers are the most important factor contributing to student achievements. On the other hand most of teachers/trainers have not any experience with entrepreneurship and ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION is not yet included systematically in training programmes for teachers/ trainers in countries involved in the project. THE OBJECTIVE of the project was to provide teachers/trainers with the adequate competences to teach entrepreneurship. Teachers/ trainers gained experience from foreign partners, which are reflected in other ways and habits, characteristics of the country. They became familiar with the partner countries, the ways of doing business and part of the knowledge was used in their activities in practise. The project was realized within partnership of FOUR PROJECT PARTNERS. Educational Association, z.s. (CR), coordinator of the project, is non-profit association which aim is developing of the open educational society, information, consultation and guidance activities in the framework of the lifelong learning. BEST Institut für berufsbezogene Weiterbildung und Personaltraining GmbH (AT) was founded in 1990 as an independent organisation for providing continuous training, vocational qualification and career services. Its main activities comprise the development of innovative training programmes for young (+16) individuals and adults, many of them disadvantaged and with migration background, on continuous and vocational training, counselling & coaching and activation for job seekers and employees. Biedrība Eurofortis (LV), not-for-profit organisation working in training field, personal and professional competence development. ISQ (PT) is a private, non-profit and independent technological institution founded in 1965, currently running operations in more than 40 countries across the world (EU, Eastern Europe, Africa, Americas and Asia), offering its experience in technical inspections, technical assistance for engineering projects, consultancy services and training activities, supported by transversal research and development activities and by 16 accredited laboratories. The project partners have realized the analysis of the situation in the area of the entrepreneurship education in the countries involved (O1 - THE STATE OF PLAY REPORT OF EACH COUNTRY). On the basis of this report was created a specific training program for teachers/trainers of secondary vocational schools and vocational schools in entrepreneurship education (O2 - TRAINING COURSE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION OF TEACHERS/TRAINERS). This course consists of 5 modules (60 lessons). The next step was pilot testing of this training course and developing of the report from pilot testing. O3 - OER PLATFORM is an environment of knowledge and news from entrepreneurship education, there are documents and news from EU countries and projects, teachers/trainers can find “everything” in one place. OER platform includes also link to the moodle course for teachers/trainers (O2) as well teaching materials or Analytic report (O1). Beside that we organized 5 international partner meetings, 6 multiplier events (including international conference) and developed 16 teaching materials for direct use in teaching lessons. Project activities have had a DIRECT IMPACT on the teachers /trainers, they received a substantial understanding of tools for facilitating entrepreneurial skills among their students. Teachers /trainers had the possibility extend the quality of entrepreneurship education through application of new teaching methodology for teaching core entrepreneurial competencies, including business modelling; gaining the communicating knowledge, design thinking, decision making, development of creativity, etc.
