eHealth literacy is a priority for the European Union. It has been defined as the cognitive and social skills which determine the motivation and ability of individuals to gain access, to understand and use information. It is, therefore, extremely important to promote the people access to health information and their capacity to use it effectively. The project was based on Lily theory model developed by Norman and Skinner (2006), integrating additionally dimensions presented by Chan & Kaufman (2011), Gilstad (2014). The model will be adapted to fit the web 2.0 technology requirements.Five organisations from Poland, Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Bulgaria were working 2 years on the proper implementation of the project. 1). SSW Collegium Balticum- coordinator – University from Poland2). CUT- University from Cyprus3). ANS- a non-profit organization working in the field of social innovation, with a specific focus on management of projects and realization of services and products in the field of welfare and social inclusion.4). Alzheimer Bulgaria Assiociation- non-governmental voluntary organization in community interest. The organization unites the efforts of families and professionals to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia5). AAADRD- a non-profit organization founded by carers of people with dementia and health care professionals interested in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). It aims at promoting awareness, care and support for everyone.eLILY project aims were to provide a blended training programme (class sessions and elearning course) for carers of frail older people and people with dementia and to increase their knowledge of e-health and the use of ICT in everyday care for the elderly and people with dementia. The main target group of the project were informal carers for older people and institutions dealing with informal adult education for elderly and dementia care.IO2- training curriculmThe process of developing the methodology included the following stages:1) a brief survey on the Health and eHealth literacy situation in partners’ countries, 2) development of the suggested curriculum 3) a delphi survey with carers and healthcare professionals4) consensus meeting among partners of the final curriculum, 5) development content in English and translation of the contents to all partners’ language 6) piloting phase 7) analysis and reporting 9) development of trainers manualThe developed methodology and training materials are available in partner languages on the project website, www.elily.eu. IO3- ToolkitToolkit includs three parts: theoretical material, a set of exercises and a glossary of terms and its content is closely related to the content of training modules (IO2). The result is a set of tools that informal carers will be able to use at home to familiarize themselves with the concepts and consolidate the knowledge acquired during the training. The set of exercises in English is available online on the project website and has been translated into the national languages of the partners. IO4- elearning courseElearning course for informal carers of older people and people with Alzheimer's. The methodology developed in the project has been integrated and adapted to the elearning course. The e-learning course, available in all partner languages, is available for free on a dedicated e-learning platform. For each of the 4 modules, users can use interactive resources, including: theoretical materials, practical online exercises, self-assessment tools (evaluation questionnaire) and a glossary of terms. All involved countries (Poland, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece and Cyprus) are countries with low rate of health related internet use among older people.The project has raised awareness of the need to support informal carers in the acquisition of digital competence and e-health skills, especially in the current context of COVID-19 has accelerated the need to use ICT instruments in the public health sector.More information about the project is available at www.elily.eu.
