It is innovative in establishing a curricular integration strategy of Environmental Education that will allow educational communities to contribute collectively to achieve the fundamental objectives of the European Commission. The Cultural Heritage has a universal value for us. It is important to preserve it and to transmit it to future generations. We must encourage our educational communities to discover and commit themselves to the natural heritage by reinforcing the feeling of belonging to a common European area. The exchange of good practices among the different delegations participating in the project clearly justifies their transnational nature and their financing. We set ourselves as the first objective to know the different lines of intervention that Environmental Education develops, as well as the knowledge of our Natural Spaces as universal values of the European Cultural Heritage. Paying special attention to the ""Natura 2000 Network"" natural spaces constitute a network of biodiversity conservation areas in the European Union where we will find Special Conservation Areas. As a second objective of the project we set out to raise awareness in our educational communities of the need to acquire a perception and an attitude about energy that is more in solidarity with the environment, reducing the consumption of fossil fuels and betting on energy savings, energy efficiency and sources of energy (renewable energy). And finally, we set out as a specific objective the performance of communication, training and environmental education actions to raise awareness about the treatment of waste and its recycling, focusing especially on the problem of plastics.Through the environmental commissions, we will learn how the schools promote attitudes to allow the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions while respecting the environment. These comissions will also carry out research work where they will search, generate and process information about waste and its recycling in educational communities.Plastics will have a special treatment and campaigns to raise awareness and disseminate the problem will take place. All the works, proposals and results obtained will be shared through eTwinning, which will be used periodically / regularly, as well as the preparation of mobilities and their development.96 high school students from 12 to 15 years old will be directly involved in the mobilities. Indirectly, a total of 200 students will be part of some of the programmed activities. There will be about 80 teachers implicated and 48 mobilities programmed including short-term mobilities and the training for participants in France. In addition, the ErasmusPlus teams that will develop the program in the five different delegationsThe eTwinning platform will be fundamental due to the collaborative and digital nature of the project. Each project delegation will appoint a Twinning commission responsible of the management of the platform. The first block of activities will be based on the presentation and organization of teams. In a second block of activities we will focus on activities that will help the achievement of the specific project objectives. These will have a collaborative nature where respect and tolerance prevail. With the development of the project:- Students will acquire a more supportive and respectful conscience with the environment being more committed citizens and they will even have a greater awareness of belonging to Europe.- Teachers will enrich their methodological resources thanks to good shared practices. They will acquire a more global vision of the development of Environmental Education so that educational programs will be enriched. The impact will be reflected in the annual evaluation reports that will serve as proposals for improving educational schedules. It will contribute in a very significant way to the modernization and internationalization of the schools and also to create future collaborative networks. Thanks to the research carried out, the schols and households will improve their energy efficiency. In short, ours is a project that will directly benefit our environment and hence European society, in the short, medium and long term. This will be accomplished by working Environmental Education and knowing our Cultural Heritage. Education will serve as the key to open the world of awareness and possible changes, since “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world” (Nelson Mandela)."

Recent events, like terrorism, mass migrations, refugees, have brought about a great sense of insecurity, which in turn increased feelings of fear, selfishness, racism and intolerance towards what is perceived as different. Integration is losing status as a value among our student population, and it is in fact considered a threat to our own 'roots' and 'traditional values'. It's a matter of 'us' against 'them', without even knowing who are 'we' and who are 'they' exactly. Interestingly enough, most young people have heard of and admire great figures of mankind, but wouldn't be able to say where their greatness lies and why they are important to us.Our students find it very difficult to set both short- and long-term objectives and are not always willing to engage to pursue them. Therefore this project wanted to address these major needs: - bring back integration as a fundamental value for a peaceful society - be aware of the examples found in world AND local peace heroes - recognize the necessity to set clear objectives and be ready to take action to pursue them. To do so our students worked with the following objectives and activities: - studied migration routes and analysed the reasons behind. Collected information about the number of refugees in each of the countries and the attitudes towards immigrats and compared the situation in the five countries taking part in the project. Get awareness of the situation refugees are undergoing. Through this activity their minds were brodened and they reflected on a global situation taking place all over the world, empowered them to make a diffrence.- Carried out a scientific experiment meant to undermine the concept of race and to demonstrate that even great figures of mankind have a lot in common with us all. One of the main tools to reconstruct the evolutionary history of mankind were the study of mitochondrial DNA sequence variation, since it provides information about genetic relationships among different human populations. Being aware that we bear the same genes denies concepts such as human races and racism. Science then will gain a new role as a modern tool in disseminating ideas such as integration, inclusion, globalization, and respect for cultural diversities. That is why we felt it was necessary to address those who will be the future European citizens, the same ones who have already experienced the benefits of living in a free world, and who are old enough to consider what it could be like if the principles on which the Union is based should fail. - explored and investigated both global and local peace heroes, what they did and wich role they played in the society. What made them heroes? We visited the Nobel peace prize center and honoured the winner 2019. This demonstrated that we don't need to be special to be a hero, as even heroes share our same genes. Each one of us can then be responsible to make the world a more peaceful place and contribute to social inclusion.- engaged our students to act as local heroes in their society, inspired by the local and global peace heroes. Offered them opportunities to challenge themselves and learn that everybody can do great little things to make the world a better place. - investigated the tragic terrorist events, like the attack in Norway the 22nd of July, and learned more about what the extreme consequenses of intolerance can be and how we can meet intolerance and radicalism in our local communities. We have understood that if we know history, we can be more objective and make the right decisions, but we have also realized that so “…many roads must we walk down…” before this sort of things “are forever banned” and never happen again. We each are called to do our share for a better world where, instead of fear of diversity, there are empathy and respect. Here we are at the end of this journey. 28 months devoted to understand the different meanings the word Journey has: hope, fear, discovery, wait, development, effort, joy, wonder. All these words always include a meeting: it is our duty to turn into something special and unique. It is time to say goodbye and take with us everything we have learned, that has changed us and made us richer. This end is not really an end, but a new beginning, the beginning of our journey as new and better people. We should never be tired of believing in a world where respect, empathy, and tolerance are what we choose in our life. Finally we would like to sum up with the poem written by Frode Grytten to the boys and girls of Utøya: “hey, hey, time to get up and change the world!”

Throughout history, the world has always been connected by the sea in different ways. Humans depend on the sea when it comes to food, work and transportation. With this partnership, our aim is to develop a project that focuses on the sea from different perspectives; as a way of connecting people, reinforce peaceful relationships, as a source of creating job opportunities and as an energy and food resource. Moreover, the project will empasise that the sea is and marine life are under threat. Pollution, climate change and waste, such as plastic, is currently a major concern and can ruin the sea as a food resource. The seas are interconnected, and thus the preservation of the seas is a common resposibility. The project will also emphasize fundamental European values such as democracy, diversity, peace and solidarity. In addition to these central values, other important objectives will emphasize increased social competence for the participating countries through the planned activities as well as digital and artistic expression in various ways. The participants will improve their knowledge about the sea on different levels: history, geography, politics, science, Languages, career opportunities and raised awareness of the preservation of the marine biodiversity and a sustainable development are all central objectives of the project. The activites and concrete results of the project will involve presentations, creative work such as theatre and video documentary, the creation of a website, a webpage on E-twinning, different awareness campaigns, career fairs, film festivals and art exhibitions. Various and many dissemination activities will be crucial throughout the entire project. In addition to the involvement of the partner school, the local community will also take part in activities related to the project where local media and politicians will be invited. The five participating schools are each connected to their sea: Ingieråsen Skole in Norway is located by the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea, Agrupamento de Escolas Morgado de Mateus in Portugal is located by the Atlantic Sea, The High School of Petra, in the island of Lesvos in Greece is located in the Mediterranean Sea, Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 1 Unirea in Romania is located by The Black Sea and Collège Beauséjour in French Martinique in the Caribbean basin. Together this will contribute to increased understanding of the way the sea works as all partner schools are able to experience the sea and its biodiversity up close. The sea will function as a common platform to achieve increased understanding and this will unite all the partner schools. The project will give 100 students opportunity to participate in a short-term exchange. These will be chosen to reflect the profile of the school in total, bringing students with different socio-economic background together bringing a broader perspective to the project. In addition to the traveling students, the project will also involve several classes from each of the five schools aiming to involve a total of thousand students. For the involved students it will be a unique possibility to increase their foreign language competence and motivation in language learning, use foreign language in daily life through practice, develop self-expression skills, increase career opportunities, increase awareness, understanding, tolerance and respect not only of cultural and social differences between nations, but also for our seas. For teachers, it will be a great chance to be engaged in European collective team work and interdisciplinary cooperation, improve their pedagogical skills by exchanging and sharing teaching methods, good practices and ideas that will enrich their professional expertise and develop teaching skills with innovative approaches for communicative skills. The potential long term benefits of the project is to make our students aware of European diversity as a good value and of the sea as a common treasure and a collective responsibility. We intend to reinforce their conscience as European citizens sharing the same values: respecting and valuing diversity, being tolerant, sense of responsibility, caring for the sea preservation. Our results, reports and website will serve as a resource and inspiration for all stakeholders. Our project may function as ""a drop in the sea"" when it comes to highlightening and raising awareness of the importance and preservation of the sea. However, through our dissemanation activities the partners will act as an important voice in our communities and beyond. After all, many drops make a sea."

God therefore wanted a new beginning. This story serves as a basis and metaphor for our planned project. In many areas our students have realized that they or the generations before them no longer deal well with our earth and environment, which in various ways now affects our students' everyday life. They have realized that these environmental problems know no borders and that they have to collaborate with other students from different countries, exchange in a common language (English) about environmental problems and their solutions in order to avert the threatening danger of Nemesis towards a more environmentally friendly way of life. Therefore, various countries of the European Union and its partner countries (in our case Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Germany and Norway) meet on the Ark at five minutes to twelve, just before it is too late to save the earth. As they head towards a new beginning in a more environmentally friendly world, they will encounter various environmental problems on their journey on the Ark that they will tackle with sustainable solutions. They take these sustainable solution products with them on their Ark and distribute them to their school communities to ensure that the world they are heading for is a more environmentally friendly one. Thus, symbolically, after each visit to a ""port"" of the partner country, an object is placed on the Ark. The last port will be the joint implementation of a sustainability week involving the whole school community, other surrounding school communities and various local institutions. Our vision is that a sustainability week will in the future draw circles and be carried out in various school communities and cities of the EU."
