The partners work in communities that have not host adequately yet the immigrant population, with separate and in some cases exclusive socialization environments. We work with young people of migrant origin who find it very difficult to be part of their communities on equal terms with other young people. Young people who do not access, for various reasons, the services of their area, the youth activities that are offered. With this reality, we set a project with two complementary objectives:- Promote social inclusion, citizen coexistence and the participation of young immigrants in the social, political, economic and cultural life of our regions.- Prevent discriminatory, racist and xenophobic behavior in the local population, especially the youth, through the normalization of the presence of migrant identities in community life.To meet our objectives we are going to implement an analysis of the personal interests and needs in relation to their community integration of the young people of migrant origin with whom we work, developing a training plan for these young people in social and communication competences, cultural context and initiative. On this basis, we will work to increase the participation of young people of migrant origin in community activities under equal conditions, as well as to produce an improvement in the social perception of young people of migrant origin and to bring them closer to their realities. Finally, we will prepare materials with recommendations and ideas to facilitate and promote the inclusion of young people of migrant origin in their host communities and we will share the results of everything we have learned. In this process we are going to involve more than 500 young people (13 to 30 years old) of very diverse profiles from all our communities, but especially around 40 young people of migrant origin who will be the center of the project. The entire process and the actions that are developed will be based on non-formal education, an active and participatory methodology that adapts to the specific and real needs of people, attractive and effective to achieve our objectives. In the end we hope to improve the inclusion in community life of young people of migrant origin.

This project stems from the interest of three organizations in Spain, Italy and Romania to explore jointly with other agents ways to make administrations friendly for the youth population, transformations that facilitate and enhance the approach of youth to these and, consequently, have a positive effect on the youth population of our communities. With this in mind, we have set the following objectives:- Identify the elements that produce and / or encourage the rejection and detachment of youth towards administrations;- Analyze the options for change and improvement of the elements identified through a joint work of the youth and the technical and political staff of the administrations;- Share experiences and propose exportable models on how to make youth-friendly administrations;- Start a process of adaptation of administrations that facilitates the civic participation of youth and their effective citizenship. To meet our objectives we will implement an analysis of reality followed by a learning activity to share and work together on exportable proposals to different contexts. With this, we will work to implement the proposed changes and analyze their results. Finally, we will draw conclusions and share the results of everything learned. In this process, we will involve more than 500 young people (13 to 30 years old) from very diverse profiles of all our communities. We will also involve more than 60 people who work with young people and who play a very important role in cooperation processes with administrations. Of course, we will involve at least 9 public administrations where to implement the proposals. The whole process and the actions that will be developed will be based on non-formal education, an active and participatory methodology that adapts to the concrete and real needs of the people, attractive and effective to achieve our objectives. In the end, we hope to improve the relationship of youth with administrations so that there are greater interaction and cooperation, which will imply a greater impact on the youth population.

<< Background >>*Note: This project was submitted in the 2020 October call, staying in the reserve list and not being granted. This new version has been modified according to the recommendations of the evaluator.Young people, especially females, are especially vulnerable to different ways of power abusive practices due to their economical, emotional, intellectual and social dependency. This phenomenon is often difficult to detect and counteract due to low reporting rate and its lack of visibility. The power abuse situation of each partner´s country is truly alarming and requires an immediate action, especially, in detention and preventive measures, since adequate specialized services are profoundly underdeveloped and there are no specific measures towards achieving gender equality.Whether it is physical, emotional, financial, laboral, discriminatory, sexual, psychological, domestic or any other type of personal or interpersonal violence, it needs to be counteracted, with all the strength that can be gathered.NGO Explorator as applicant organisation, together with the Italian youth Association ORIEL, and the Spanish NGO Permacultura Cantabria, will exchange knowledge, tools, best practices and methods to counteract abuse of power towards youth, with a special focus on gender violence towards young women and minority groups (Roma, disabled, juvenile former prisoners, LGTBQI groups, etc). Thanks to this project (YEAP: Yes to Youth Education against Abuse of Power) we will also boost the general awareness regarding the power abuse situations experienced by youth.<< Objectives >>The project “YEAP: Yes to Youth Education against Abuse of Power” objectives are to:-Exchange knowledge, best practices and methodologies, to counteract gender violence and power abuse, among youth.-Increase the awareness level regarding the abuse of power, experienced by youth, especially young women and those from minority groups.-Strengthen alliances, at regional, national and European levels, with entities that fight to counteract gender violence and power abuse.<< Implementation >>During this project, we want to build an international network, which will allow us to work, closely, and learn from each other. To facilitate the coordination of our actions, we will place youth workers, in a new environment, and will gather new best practices, tools and competences, which will be used for elaborating new solutions, to violence against young women. To achieve these objectives, we will carry out different activities:3 meetings to work together: a kick-off meeting in Spain, an online intermediate meeting, and a final meeting in Romania. Project and Dissemination Coordinators will attend them.We will also organize 2 participatory visits: the 1st one in Italy, where Oriel will transfer its knowledge and best practices for gender violence prevention and Non-Violent Communication, and the 2nd one in Romania, where Explorator will share its best practices for the prevention of power abuse and will transfer its Theatre of the Oppressed method, for raising awareness about violence. Coordinators plus one youth worker from each entity will attend. Participatory visits are planned for the best practice exchange, project network building and facilities visiting. Finally, the obtained knowledge and methods mentioned will be combined with the best practices in Emotional Management tools, used by P. Cantabria, during a Course in Spain where all the methodology will be transferred to other young people and youth workers. Participants will be the 2 coordinators, 1 youth worker and 3 young people from our entities. All participants will be actively involved in the activities and the dissemination of the project results. We planned a specific phase of application of the new tools and knowledge where the youth worker course participants, with the support of the experts and trainers of our organizations, will act as multiplier agents, carrying out Internal Workshops, to put into practice and transfer the acquired knowledge and tools, to other youth and youth workers, from our communities and organisations. There will be an open round table invitation, issued so all the organisations interested in the subject could participate, even if they are not involved in the Partnership. That way, we will gain additional project coverage, using those entities as multipliers. Round tables are planned for each of the learning activities.<< Results >>At the end of our project we aim to achieve the following results:*To gain knowledge and skills to decrease the cyberbullying and to respect non-binary gender individuals as well as learn “Non-Violent Communication” from the best practices and tools through the participatory visit in Italy, at ORIEL partner*To transfer the Explorator’ s knowledge and best practices for the early diagnosis and prevention of everyday sexism, violence and abuse situations, within minority groups. Also, to get deep knowledge on the “Shadow Theatre” and “Theatre of the Oppressed” tools, as well as their tools for raising awareness, during the participatory visit in Romania*Learn Emotional Management and Conflict Resolution tools, for youth education against power abuse during the training course in Spain at PC*To transfer the knowledge, best practices and tools acquired locally through internal workshops.*Develop new projects and initiatives defined by all the participants, during the Course in Spain, and Internal Workshops. Therefore, through this project we hope to be a space for coming up with new initiatives for counteracting abuse towards youth, foster social inclusion and gender rights equality. We will spread the project results through a potent dissemination strategy, carefully designed to reach local communities, but also the European society, as a whole, to accomplish the desired and expected systemic impact. We strongly believe that upon completion of the project, many young people, especially the most vulnerable ones, will have experienced and will be empowered, engaging in non-violent, gender-equitable and emotionally healthier relationships and environments. They will take action to protect their human rights and will be equipped with skills to effectively communicate their needs and with tools to manage any painful experience they may have suffered. We will improve our services, attending our organization’s users even better, with enhanced skills, and reaching more youngsters. Opening a safe space, for the free expression, will be a useful resource of support for victims of abuse of power.Youth workers and the organisations involved in the project will improve their skills and will be trained to introduce new working methodologies for social inclusion, gender violence prevention, peaceful and effective communication, bullying avoidance, etc., between young women and other particularly vulnerable youth groups with minority backgrounds. We will involve in the project other entities working on similar social issues to strengthen our local, regional and international alliances network, with whom to continue working on Youth Education against Abuse of Power.

According to Eurostat, the cultural and creative industry (CCI) accounted for almost 3.7% of EU employment in 2015 (8.4 million), more than the automotive industry. Despite ICC's important contribution to the economy and to people's well-being, the situation of workers in the sector is often precarious and their work seasonal. The Covid-19 pandemic particularly threatens the future of young artists, who are seriously affected not only by competition, but also by the application of social distancing measures. A large part of the jobs generated by ICC is affected, and the transition to the digital age is being faster than the world expected. Unfortunately, digital literacy in schools and other educational centers has not developed at the same rate. As a result of this, young people do not have strong tools for their professional life that allow them to participate fully in society. Young people have basic skills and are in contact with the most popular tools, although they are not the most appropriate for their career paths. To alleviate this situation, we have decided to form this strategic alliance and develop a new useful methodology for young people seeking their professional path in the cultural and creative industry. Our strategic alliance, composed of PASOS, ORIEL and CWP, carried out a Context Analysis, Focus Groups and Gap Analysis, which show the need for the ArteSano project. Its objectives are:O1: Exchange knowledge and ICT tools focused on 3 perspectives: Politics, Efficiency and Technology.Participatory visits in Italy and the United Kingdom to share all the knowledge and tools that each partner applies within their organizations linked to the 3 perspectives.O2: Create a new methodology for the development of digital capabilities applicable to the cultural and creative industry. We will create a new methodology that will be based on the knowledge acquired in Italy and the United Kingdom. The methodology will be documented in an interactive book that will be used by youth workers, young students, and organizations. The book will be delivered in English, Spanish and Italian. It will be tested during the course in Spain.O3: Empower young people with lifelong learning digital skills. We will carry out a dissemination campaign, which will give access to the interactive book to our target groups, including the most disadvantaged young people. The campaign includes 3 multiplier events, one in each country and internal workshops, organized by the participants who attended the course in Spain. In addition, we will hold 3 transnational meetings for the efficient management of the project:-Kick Off in Spain.-Intermediate meeting in Italy-Final meeting in UKThe participatory visits, course in Spain, internal workshops, interactive book, etc., will be all based on a non-formal learning framework.Young people and youth workers will acquire skills applicable in the cultural and creative industry that make up the new ArteSanomethodology: Digital skills in Political, Economic and Technological perspectives. We also hope that our strategic alliance will help promote the inclusion of young people in our countries. Developing high-quality digital skills will empower young people in their professional lives.

Climate change is a topic unlike any other, it is also a truly democratic and unifying one, where everyone has a part to play in regardless of their background or the place they live in . This is also the postulate of a recent major social movement of youth that has arisen in response to the inadequate and insufficient measures taken so far. However, if we all need to start to act, what does this practically imply for the way in which we work with youth? Those who are young, and unprivileged, now will be affected most by climate change: What can they practically do about climate change while what they feel is fear or doubts? Do they, and we all, actually know what it implies and how big is our individual actions´ role? Do they realise that many everyday solutions, socially unpopular for their ¨low-monetary-status¨stigma, are actually keys to a sustainable life? Taking these considerations into account, we formed our Strategic Partnership and we plan to create our IO as a creative and innovative guide thanks to which youth workers will be able to both deepen and acquire an ability necessary to work with young people’s need for climate change action and put in practise teamwork strategies for groups of young people at risk of social exclusion. We also wish for the climate change ¨lens¨, BIOLENS, to become a prism through which our organisations (and other entities) start to look and work regardless of their main field of specialisation. Our project will also bring significant improvement of professional competences for members of our 3 NGOs (Polish Foundation Medeina, Spanish NGO PASOS and Italian Oriel Association). These improvements will be particularly visible in the climate change´s innovative emotional and social (gender, intercultural and ethical) aspect, social inclusion. They will also raise the quality of their professional and personal performance and will be able to use the acquired skills in practise by forming Action Groups for young people. The objectives of the “BIOLENS: ” project are therefore the following:GO1. To exchange and generate transversal knowledge in the field of adaptation to climate change for youth workers from non-formal and in-formal education sector.(Why? The European Commission called for the transnational actions regarding climate change and youth).GO2. To generate transversal materials in the field of adaptation to climate change for youth workers from non-formal and in-formal education sector.(Why? Education is an obligation for State Parties of the The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change but it hardly appears in climate policies as they tend to target industry, general society or, recently, formal education field but rarely regarding Third Sector ).Go3. To reinforce the individual responsibility among youth in order to promote responsible behaviour in relation to the consequences of climate change.(Why? As we stated before, youth is the driving force of the recent Climate Strikes movement and it is a perfect time to further engage them, canalising their emotions into eco-positive actions).GO4: To support awareness-raising and action on climate change through the development and distribution of dissemination materials and events.(Why? In 2013 the EU adaptation strategy was adopted and awareness raising and mainstreaming of adaptation were considered crucial in this process).GO5: To build other NGOs´ capacity and strengthen the cooperation among entities.(Why? It is a high time for climate change to be introduced as a transversal topic in any NGO regardless of its scope of work and through trainings, IO´s distribution and dissemination we will bring together many entities). These objectives will be achieved by the following main activities planned:3 project meetingsBest practices exchange through 3 LTTAsThe period of joint intellectual work on writing the IOTrying out and testing the intellectual output via workshops before its final version.3 conferences to disseminate the IO in each of the participating countries and dissemination strategyInternal workshops for our organisations Action Groups programme for youth led on the basis of the experiences from the course and skills transferred in the book. The sustainable impact of the BIOLENS project among the participating organisations will be based on the increased confidence of our youth workers in addressing the challenges of promoting climate change action, improving the quality of their work and better social integration of young people they work with. In addition, we will also contribute to creation of an international network of organisations which may result in future projects. We also expect that through the dissemination we will inform and convince the key decision-makers from the non-formal and informal education sector of the importance of including the work on climate change in all spheres of youth's education and third sector entities' work.
