It enables citizens of all ages to navigate the modern news environment and take informed decisions. The coronavirus pandemic has forced us to take a step back from our daily routines. As we spend more and more time at home, we increasingly rely on the internet, be that for working remotely or video calling relatives and friends. During times of uncertainty, like the ones we are experiencing, engaging with information that is trustworthy is more important than ever. This infodemic highlights the important role media literacy plays in all aspects of life, including during moments of crisis. Media literacy education is key in ensuring that individuals canfind the real facts among all of the half-truths being shared online and beyond, especially when it can literally be a matter of life or death. As we are seeing now, media literacy is notonly a matter of education — it can also be a matter of public safety. We aim to develop critical thinking skills of youth workers and raise the organisations’ capacity in the field of new media literacy in 5 EU partner countries to contribute to the quality of life of young people, emergence of new approaches and development of a more inclusive, tolerant, peaceful society and develop the quality and potential of digital youth work. The project is built on the rationale that by becoming media literate, youth are able to critically and skeptically analyze media messages they encounter every day, become wiser consumers of media who are capable of evaluating online information and are able to protect themselves from deceptive media messages.During the project life-cycle, the partners will develop a guide of best practices for teachers / youth workers in the field of Media Literacy Education. Booklet will consist of the following:a - Presentation of the Project ,presentation logo , presentation of partners' common definition of '' BEST PRACTICES ''b - Description of best practices collected (title - author - objectives - target - description -innovative elements - impact -conclusion)c - Testing results with feedback from participants d-ConclusionThe project includes 4 TPMs. the first meeting will be dedicated to project management while from the second onwards, after the Training, during each Meeting we will focus on the analysis of specific BEST PRACTICES adopted / or identified by each partner. The purpose of the LTT in MALTA ; will be multiple, in particular:- To exchange experience, tools and best practices concerning media literacy education especially for youth from disadvantaged backgrounds at local/National level;- To Adapt and transfer the best bractices identified in the 5 partner countries rmethodologies based on formal/non formal education;- To organize Testing Activities in each project partner’s country in order to share, Analyse, evaluate and adapt best Practices selected during the Training;Youth workers will enlarge their knowledge and improve skills on the education of media literacy by sharing and exchanging experiences and best practices with other youth workers in Europe. The project will have a positive impact on youth workers -trainers in terms of:-better understanding of the project topics – disinformation, media literacy, critical thinking.-developed critical thinking and media literacy skills to transmit to young people their work with in order to foster their ability to recognise disinformation and counteract on its side effects by changing narratives-Increased knowledge , skills to put into practice knowledge and new skills acquired in their daily work, thus developing youth critical thinking and promote their participation in their society and countries fighting against disinformation and its side effects. About half of the NEET population is not economically active. The Youth Guarantee program has not yet reached all young people, and especially low-skilled and disadvantaged young people have not been able to benefit enough from the program. The reasons for this can be listed as courage, inadequate incentive mechanisms and inadequate entrepreneurship skills. Further efforts are needed to support young people who are far from the labor market. Because young people's past is a decisive factor in becoming NEETs. Those with a low level of education are three times more likely to become NEETs. This rate is 70% for those of immigrant origin, while young Roma, 40% for those with health problems or disabilities. It also has a significant proportion among NEETs among young women with familial responsibilities.Declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization, COVID-19 is not only in the field of health, but also economic, sociological, psychological, etc. It also causes effects. For example, according to OECD studies, the world economy is projected to contract at least 2.4% in 2020 (OECD, 2020). According to UNCTAD data, the direct foreign capital investment flow is expected to decrease by 30-40% globally until the end of 2020 (UNCTAD, 2020). ILO foresees that 5--25 million people will remain unemployed globally by 2020 (ILO, 2020). The epidemic deeply affected social life on a global scale and caused significant changes in many areas, and all these changes were determined by individual, institutional, social, economic, environmental, etc. it has many consequences. Moreover, it is thought that the NEETs rates, which are 29.8% short-term and 22% long-term, will increase across the EU. This will bring the risk of social exclusion. Especially individuals with immigrant backgrounds will be more affected by this situation. This situation contradicts the goals of increasing the personal, social and professional success and satisfaction of all citizens stated in the EU 2020 Strategy and ensuring democratic values, social cohesion, active citizenship and intercultural dialogue. At this point, it is important to support individuals to participate in the solution of social, economic and personal problems. With this project, we want to create solutions to their employability by developing many skills of NEETs in Europe such as entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary work, critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, teamwork and information literacy through social entrepreneurship. In order to combat social exclusion and unemployment, there is a need to increase the digital competencies of disadvantaged groups, to actively participate in the solution of social events and to develop entrepreneurial skills.<< Objectives >>ur aim is to increase the employability of NEETS between the ages of 15-29 and individuals at risk of becoming NEETS by supporting their social entrepreneurship skills.1. Supporting social entrepreneurship skills of young people with fewer opportunities with digital tools2. Developing tools for youth workers, trainers and teachers to promote disadvantaged social entrepreneurship3. EU demography & inequality reports show that ‘Population with a foreign background will continue to grow’ in EU & that ‘Migrants tend to be at higher risk of poverty’. Migration is recognized as a key feature of our contemporary world as it provides many opportunities to societies and to migrants themselves. However, it is still one of the least understood phenomenon, leading to an increase of critical political and policy challenges in matters such as safe migration, border management, displacement and integration.Humans have used arts to express/communicate for centuries. It shaped their culture, nationality and identity. Arts have been a major catalyst for change in society around the world and it’s a method known for the very good results/feedback it provides by stimulating self-reflection, development of oneself and also by overcoming xenophobia, prejudices and stereotypes.ARTS FOR SOCIAL INCLUSION , EQUALITY & DIVERSITY will use digital storytelling , digital photography - media , music and drama ; the four creative disciplines that the project proposes as powerful tools in youth practice.Beneficiaries of the project are going to be young people with disadvantaged backgrounds and fewer opportunities : immigrants or refugees. With the competence development resulting from the project, the youth work professionals will be able to provide to young people with fewer opportunities (a) a direct route to reach their full potential (b) solutions to many of the barriers to social inclusion. The project brings together 5 organisations that believe arts and creativity is the best way to:-promote Intercultural dialogue which preserves our cultural heritage and promotes cultural diversity connecting people with different backgrounds, interests and perspective-involve migrants by increasing participation in cultural & societal life. Artistic and cultural expressions helps us to communicate with each other and allow us to understand our similarities as well our differences, in an area where we must also resolve disputes.Results:-A WEBSITE where the objectives of the project, the outcomes (downloadable), activities , videos/photos , LTT will be uploaded . All will be free of license. Our project will share, confront, test innovative practices through new forms of learning, providing training, notably the strategic use of open & flexible learning, open educational resources(OER) &better exploitation of the ICT potential-ART FOR SOCIAL INCLUSION , EQUALITY & DIVERSITY BOOKLET for youth workers in which the methods used during the project lifecycle will be shared. To guarantee a good knowledge of tools & strategies, we will complete the training contents through the provision of more content of the course.Project activities will enable project participants to provide an EU perspective on the problems and challenges faced in working with migrant and refugee populations. It will also promote the sharing of best practice between partners and practitioners creating enhanced awareness that can be implemented and replicated in the design of future workshops and initiatives in the creative arts: photography, storytelling, drama , music & creative thinking.Through the arts, we will foster intercultural dialog and reinforce awareness and acceptance of diversity within society, create resilient structures of empowerment and participation, turn challenges into strengths and opportunities; give voice to young migrants who are among the most disadvantaged in our society. Simultaneously, the project will have a high profile in both communities of interest and geographical location, resulting in a greater awareness and acceptance of young migrants, and will further promote their integration by, for example, the reduction of fear and prejudice. Thanks to the common language of the arts, we will encourage the integration and empowerment of young migrants / refugees in partner countries. Migrants and refugees will be able to make their voices heard through the project, engage in society and take part in decision-making, as well as learn soft-and entrepreneurship skills. To have a voice is to have self-confidence, self-esteem and the freedom to openly cultivate and share one 's interest in the public sphere. The public sphere is the space of solidarity, the space of power relations, where various voices can compete to validate their views and interests. We believe that this project will be one step in the development of a network of organisations, activists, young people, volunteers, citizens and migrants involved and that will make an effort to create resilient and intercultural communities. They will increase their awareness of the shared European values, as well as their recognition of the roots and acceptability of the diversity that also exists within Europe.
