    It is widely documented that social and emotional learning (SEL) programs are effective in promoting mental health and well-being in children and young people. However, a number of shortcomings of these programs have been identified, which may compromise their sustainability and long-term effect. The BOOST project will go beyond state of the art of current SEL programmes and develop an approach to integrate SEL in teachers' pedagogical skills and classroom interaction and a tool for organisational development to facilitate implementation and uptake of the approach in classrooms, schools and among school owners (the BOOST approach). The development will involve the young themselves, as well as school owners, teachers, policy makers and a multidisciplinary team of researchers from fields of education, public health, psychology and economics. This is to ensure the relevance, acceptability and organisational and political anchoring of the intervention, as well as to increase the potential for scale-up and sustainability of the intervention locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The end users of the BOOST approach are schools and teachers, but the target population are children and young people. To ensure the relevance of the BOOST approach in a wide range of European contexts, the approach will be developed, implemented and tested in three diverse European settings, Poland, Spain and Norway. The BOOST approach will be evaluated for its short-term and long-term effects on children's social and emotional well-being, as well as for its economic benefits.

    The PentaHelix project is focusing on developing and testing a new approach for integrating multi-governace planning for sustainable energy, both horisontal and vertical, togeheter with a close interaction with key stakeholders in energy efficiency and sustaianble energy solutions such as the industry and business, building sector, NGO's, academia and individual citizens or relevant associations. The project aims at developing a peer-to-peer online platform for SECAP development that can be used for multiple public authorities in joint planning and implementation. This will enable the integration of different administrative levels and geographical planning areas as well as enhance the cost efficiency in the entire planning and implementation process based on economic of scale and closer cooperation and exchange. In addition regional PentaHelix Task forces will be established, involving key stakeholder and target groups, that will serve as a driver for a wider scope of the SECAPs as well as bringing in valuable insights and identification of potential measures, system solutions and a better understanding of drivers and barriers for a more sustainable society as a whole, in each specific region. This PentaHelix approach will be developed and tested in 8 pilot municipalities in Norway, Croatia, Belgium, Spain and Latvia. Each region is unique in terms of demography, economy, urban development, climate conditions and industrial/ businesss structure. Together these pilot areas consititutes a large number of inhabitants and potential mitigation of CO2 and energy savings. To further enhance the impact of the project a broad replication and dissemination strategy and actions will be rolled out in many countries in the EU. This will be mainly carried out towards neighboring regions as well as the network of ERRIN with it's many member organisations. Targeted dissemination actions will be implemented. 11 partners from 5 countries will do this during 43 months.

    The time for reaching the necessary cuts in energy use and CO2 emissions is running out quickly and increasing energy efficiency in households substantially is a prerequisite for reaching these goals in time. Behaviour science has provided deep insights into mechanisms of behaviour change in this domain in a large number of small-scale pilots. However, the urgency of the task makes it necessary to role-out such intervention programs lagre-scale and quickly. This requires knowledge on how behaviour science based intervention programs can be provided in real-life situations, on large scale, and resource efficient by real market actors. To address this knowledge gap, the ENCHANT consortium and research approach have been carefully designed to systematically evaluate existing knowledge on energy efficiency interventions, reanalyse existing data in the field, design realistic intervention packages, and implement them on 10 million households in six European countries with a large group of user partners of different types (energy providers, municipalities, NGOs) testing different communication channels. This unprecedented intervention program allows testing a large selection of intervention types addressing a large variety of psychological biases alone or in combination and evaluates their realistic saving potentials. ENCHANT evaluates the performance of intervention campaigns not only with respect to energy and CO2 saved, but also cost effectiveness, and effects on well-being of the participants (with a focus on gender specific effects), as well as effects for target groups in energy poverty. The knowledge created in ENCHANT will be implemented into an algorithm-based webtool which supports decision making of policymakers, energy providers, NGOs and municipalities in designing effective and targeted energy efficiency campaigns. In short, ENCHANT will bridge the gap from knowledge to impact.

    TREASoURcE will innovatively circulate currently incinerated, exported, landfilled or dumped plastic and biobased side and waste streams by deploying systemic circular economy (CE) solutions. The systemic CE solutions will integrate the two main elements of TREASoURcE: stakeholder engagement demonstrations (SE-DEMOs) and key value chain demonstrations (KVC-DEMOs). The DEMOs support chosen territory clusters in introducing CE practices to their citizens and businesses to help 1) decouple from use of fossil virgin resources and excess raw material consumption, 2) increase resilience (self-sufficiency, value chain security, environment and nature), 3) decrease GHG emissions and contribute to achieve climate neutral economies. Climate change, environmental degradation and loss of biodiversity are major global threats that require urgent collaborative actions across industry, sectors, cities and regions, communities and citizens. Half of total GHG emissions and more than 90 % of biodiversity loss come from resource extraction and processing. Global consumption of materials, especially biomass, fossil fuels, metals and minerals are expected to double by 2060 and annual waste generation is estimated to increase by 70 % by 2050. TREASoURcE focuses on demonstrating the CE solutions in cities and regions located in the Nordics (Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark), and they will be replicated in the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), Poland and Germany (of the Baltic Sea Region). The combination of the cities and regions will enable large reach and bigger impact and boost the replicability and scalability potential of the CE solutions. A common issue of the regions’ material circulation is low and decentralised material volumes and resulting challenges in feasibility, and bottlenecks have been high risk investments due challenges in securing sufficient feedstock (quality and quantity). However, regional strengths lie in ambitious climate and environmental targets.

    A swift transition to zero emissions and climate resilient transport systems requires that passenger and freight transport no longer are addressed separately and in isolation from one another. Passenger and freight transport must be addressed together so that policies, infrastructure (physical and digital), vehicles and energy sources serve both. These will be tackled in an integrated and coherent way in six urban nodes: from policy definition, to planning and implementation in the cities cooperating in MOVE21. The tested and integrated approach will then be disseminated across Europe. This integrated approach ensures that potential negative effects from applying zero emission solutions in one domain are not transferred to other domains, but are instead mitigated. It also ensures that European transport systems will become more resilient. Central to the integrated approach of MOVE21 are three Living Labs in Oslo, Gothenburg and Hamburg and three replicator cities: Munich, Bologna and Rome. In these, different types of mobility hubs and associated innovations are tested, and means to overcome barriers for clean and smart mobility are deployed. The Living Labs are based on an open innovation model with quadruple helix partners. The co-creation processes are supported by coherent policy measures and by increasing innovation capacity in city governments and local ecosystems. The proposed solutions will deliver new, close to market ready solutions that have been proven to work in different regulatory and governance settings. The Living Labs are designed to outlast MOVE21 by applying a self-sustaining partnership model that builds on already existing, strong partnerships for zero emission solutions. MOVE21 comprises 24 partners (six public authorities, two public transport companies owned by municipalities, six industry partners (two of which are SMEs), six research organisations and four network organisations) from seven different European countries.
