FEASIBLE focuses on the fostering of actions for the energy efficiency upgrading of residential and public buildings in the municipalities of the Parma Province. The target audience of the project are the owners and renters of apartments pertaining to a same condominium as well as owners/managers of public living-assisted places. For what concerns the private sector, the project makes explicit reference to the recent tax incentive measures put in place by the Italian state to substantially improve the deep renovation of the multifamily buildings. In this framework FEASIBLE intends fostering the penetration of these measures through targeted support actions like a consensus building process addressed to the apartment owners living in these buildings and the institution of a one-shot stop facility to provide institutional, legal and technical support to the citizens and the building (condominium) managers interested to improve the energy efficiency of their living places. As for the public sector FEASIBLE aims at improving the energy efficiency of the real estate asset managed by public company of the Parma Municipality that takes care of elder and in need people. This will happen through the development of a set of energy efficiency interventions (cogeneration, trigeneration, replacement of lighting facilities, energy service management) constituting a benchmark and a reference standard for their possible replication in other structures of this type. The consortium is led by the Parma Municipality with 6 partners all based in Italy. Total effort is 135,75 with a budget of 1,070 k€ in 30 months. The expected leverage factor is greater than 15 with an expected total investment of, at least, 16,6 M€.

"One of the greatest challenges of the 21st century is the rapidly growing urban populations and the consequent increasing demand of food. Providing the inhabitants of European cities with affordable, safe, and nutritious food is both urgent and complex. Moreover, the health and wellbeing of EU citizens and consumers are directly affected by the way cities and agriculture landscapes are shaping a sustainable food environment. “From Seed to Spoon” is an educational project on the food supply chain developed for high school students whose aim is the implementation of ecosystem services and sustainable agriculture in cities and peri-urban natural areas in different European Countries. Our project will encourage teenagers to be aware of how complex the food system is, improving mindful eating and healthy eating habits according to the EAT-Lancet Commission which gives guidelines for healthy and sustainable diets. In addition, the project will give also the opportunity to students to get in touch with nature, to learn how to respect it and how to adapt to the biological cycles. The project will also increase the awareness that nature is not just decoration. Rather, it also provides “living” infrastructures required for an adequate physical, psychological and social development. During the project, the use of innovative learning strategies (e-learning, cooperative learning, peer education, work-based learning) will support natural learning passion, promote community awareness, critical thinking, and problem solving in citizens facing a crucial transitional stage (adolescents). In addition, the project will promote the development of key competences in the use of ICTs (e.g., use of an interactive e-learning platform, development of audio-visual materials), as well competences in science and in the application of the scientific method while working closely to researchers and spending time in academic environments (helping teenagers to fight back in the war against fake news and to cope with the “post-truth society” era). Cooperative learning and peer education activities will reinforce basic language skills, while during interactions with students and citizens from other Countries, experts and researchers of UCSC, they will also develop skills in English language. The implementation of the project across different European Countries will also help students expand their knowledge, share data and ideas, build understanding and communication skills across different cultures, strengthening European identity. Participants will be able to manage any existing stereotypes and/or fears regarding not only international and intercultural contacts, but also regarding people with fewer opportunities. Indeed, students with special educational need and students of Extra UE origin will take part to working and visiting groups. The number of participants to e-learning courses will be according to school facilities present in each school (internet connection, PC). Participants to lab activities and on-the-job activities will by a delegation of students, about half females and half males including students with special educational need or of Extra UE origin. Accompanying teachers selected from the teaching staff of the school will be included during visiting periods and special education teachers also involved if participant students need extra support. We believe that our project will help students not only in their everyday professional/entrepreneurial activities but, most of all, in their life: teenagers are tomorrow's adult citizen, policy and decisionmakers, and we must help them in building a happy and healthy society.Participating organizations will instead gain new international contacts and partnership opportunities for future activities and increase important skills of their staff. The project will also have a significant impact on the protection of the environment and on land development. Indeed, the enhancement of ecosystem services may produce benefits on (and residents benefit from) microclimate, local air quality, noise reduction, binding of carbon dioxide, increased value of real estate, tourism, education, recreation. It is expected that our project will contribute positively to the implementation of policies related to the principles of sustainable development. In particular, at the regional, national, European and even International level, the desired impact of the project is the spread of its key message - the tight link existing between ""seed"" and ""spoon"" - to a community as wide as possible. The issues addressed by our project will also contribute to the promotion EU values connected with the socio-educational and personal development of youth. In the same way, we would also expect that the project will lead to an increased debate at an international level about the covered issues and to the launch of wide-ranging initiatives."

Eurostat data reveals that the 11% of the total population of the European Union is unable to keep their home adequately warm. Caused by low household income, high energy bills, and low dwelling energy efficiency, energy poverty has traditionally been associated with the inability of households to meet their heating needs during winter. However, up to the 19% of households declared not being comfortably cool in summer. Nine of the 10 warmest years have occurred since 2005, with the last five years comprising the five hottest. Not to mention this 2019 June has been the hottest on record. Climate change is increasing both the severity and frequency of extreme hot weather and heat waves and in dense urban areas, these heatwave episodes will be combined with the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect, worsening city centres temperatures which will negatively impact human health and wellbeing. Thus, cooling needs and overheating risk need to be incorporated into the energy poverty equation. The project COOLtoRISE aims to reduce summer energy poverty incidence among European households improving their indoor thermal habitability conditions and reducing their energy needs during the hot season, which will decrease their exposure to heat and heat-related health risks. Not all households have an air conditioning system and it is known that energy poor households make a restrictive use of heating and cooling as they cannot afford associated energy bills. However, raising awareness on summer energy poverty and implementing actions to mitigate it will have a double benefit on European households. First, heat exposure of energy poor households will be reduced by increasing indoor thermal conditions, which will decrease in their risk to suffer heat related diseases. Second, raising summer energy culture and preventing air conditioning devices to be installed can have serious benefits on climate change preventing future emissions.

Early childhood education it is therefore a very important element in a child's life and offer the opportunity to detect and respond to children’s individual needs and build their strengths.A high-quality preschool service can give a fair start to all children, especially those coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. The project partners recognize an essential role in pre-primary education to the play as is the major modality to stimulate the mental and physical capacity of children and to facilitate their adaptation to the requirements of formal education. Play can have a large impact on development and in particularly in social development, language skills and cognitive development. The partnership, consisting of 8 organisations from 5 EU countries(Sweden, Italy, Denmark, Spain and Belgium), recognize the need to improve teachers skills, considering the fact that among preschool staffs, in many EU educational systems, assistant can be employed without an initial qualification in ECEC. For this reason, this project meets the need of training preschool staffs and offering them a tool for evaluating the quality of the preschool services, making sure to give due importance to the play in children’s learning. In the light of 3 years project, the general objective of the project is to increase quality in early childhood education and care through the development of new knowledge on teaching approaches based on the role of playThe specific objectives are:1.To strengthen the skills of pre-school teachers through innovative play-based learning methodology2.To improve the quality of preschool services introducing transnational peer review- based processes in relation to learning methods The main expected results will be: the developed knowledge and improved competencies related to the different methodologies promoting play-based learning, the new teaching methodology and materials delivered focused on the central role of play, the improved European collaboration among peers in preschools and the deliver of tools for peer review-based processes The project activities include 6 transnational project meetings and 1 training seminar aimed at supporting the production of the main product of the project: the training methodology on play based learning and aimed at presenting the peer review tool to assess preschool services.Such products will be disseminated in the four countries of the partnership towards the key target groups of the project: Pre-schools managers and coordinators, municipal decision-makers, pre-school teachers, researchers and Professionals from other fields. The partnership consists of 3 local authorities and respective pre-schools (SE,IT, DK), a transnational network of local and regional authorities(IT) a University(SE), a University College (DK) and 2 preschools (BE, SP).
