The project APPS ASAP devised by common partners, has to be considered in the context of our schools’ ambition to integrate educational Apps and new technologies with the use of English into the teaching practice which is a key factor in developing the European dimension, furthering interculturality and enabling teachers and students to meet new colleagues and students from other countries. The main aim for all participants, is to enhance the digital competence with a deeper understanding of how technologies can be exploited to improve everyday life contributing to widen our knowledge in different subjects while integrating students who come from different cultural backgrounds. We also want more international cooperation, interdisciplinary and innovation through the use of Apps in teaching and learning. Our main objectives are: - increase and enhance the skills of teachers and students in the use of new technologies and strengthen their linguistic and digital competences; - improve and increase skills in organizing, planning and achieving common activities with institutions of other nations;- compare teachers and students work to the work of other teachers and new approaches; -gain practical skills in collecting materials, making presentations and creating web pages; - better understanding of foreign languages and other cultures;-make education more attractive in line with individual needs and expectations;- improve the skills of the staff and strengthen the teaching and learning quality;- prepare and develop assessment tools that provide necessary feedback for the teaching practice and work on social activities that ensure collaborative teaching and learning;- get new experience which we cannot get at our home country such as studying and visiting different Institutions and establish good networks among participants as a basis for future projects;- develop a sense of belonging to the local, national and European community; -have new approaches to better support competiveness and employment at regional and local level;-be satisfied from being part of an international Erasmus+ project team; -gain environmental awareness saving paper, to protect the environmentIn this project will take part 250 participants, students and teachers coming from Italy, Croatia, Macedonia, Lithuania and Romania. Their profile is varied as three schools are vocational (secondary school), one is a gymnasium (secondary school)and one is a primary/lower secondary school. Our main activities are:1.Make our project concrete by choosing activities incorporated in our interdisciplinary learning and discuss with the school staff on how the programme can enhance our curriculum.2.Use of e Twinning to choose structured courses according to the planned objectives3.To work and link up with other European schools online using e- Twinning4.Prepare the mobility activities: trip, accommodation and meals, with the help of the organizers.5.To collect evidence on language skills of EU mobility participants before mobility6. To promote activities during stay abroad aimed at a better teaching and learning. 7.To Take videos and photos to record the teachers’ experiences to showcase their result8. Access online materials to improve the language level9.To disseminate activities at different levels (institutional, local, regional, national and international) Methods: We are planning to use several learner-centered methods and interdisciplinary approaches to achieve our goals.Developing cooperative learning as a method will help students take part in the project while providing them with a wide range of creative activities, tasks and workshops. In a multi-cultural educational program, when students work toward a common goal, cooperative learning approaches are effective in increasing motivation for working together and learning from each other. Students learn how to solve problems, acquire reasoning skills and they can also develop and improve their interpersonal skills. The project tasks are structured so that students need each other to accomplish their common tasks and they also feel some kind of responsibility and independence. Our main approach is to create a natural, interactive, teaching context in which students work together discussing problems, explaining, encouraging and supporting each other to think creatively. The main impact of the partnership on the participating institutions is the ability to build a community of teachers and students from different countries who have a strong commitment and a sense of ownership in the project. The project shall have a positive impact on the local community as well. Parents, local associations and bodies within a wider community will be involved and informed of the project that shall also have a positive impact on the environment because of our measures to counteract paper waste that goes beyond the project itself.

<< Background >>Nowadays, when our planet faces unprecedented environmental and climate challenges, the greatest need is to promote responsible consumption of resources among young people and active involvement in environmental protection. Young people need to start thinking critically and with tolerant attitudes about environmental degradation and to become active factors of environmental protection, acting and modifying their own lifestyle as well as that of people in community. This project aims at developing a better understanding of the European Green Deal goals, focusing in particular on the ones that deal with environmental sustainability. We would like to help our students reflect on how our behaviours affect our environment, in order to develop their critical approach, and, above all, encourage proactive behaviours and active citizenship skills.Because in most European countries, eco-education is optional, although it is part of life education, developing this project we aim to encourage students to become active factors in environmental protection, acting and changing their own lifestyle as well as that of those around them. To test students ’behavior towards the environment, a survey was conducted in each partner school, in April 2021. What did I find? In general, students are reserved about the fate of the planet, do not show a developed sense of personal and social responsibility for environmental issues. The lack of knowledge in the field makes students seem more optimistic that environmental problems will improve in the next 2 decades.<< Objectives >>The main purpose of this project is to make young people start thinking critically and with tolerant attitudes about environmental degradation and to encourage them to become active factors of environmental protection, acting and modifying their own lifestyle as well as that of people in community. The objectives are:-developing sustainable attitudes about protecting the environment for students to ensure better living conditions in the future-raise awareness for students on environmental problems and actions which have to be undertaken from the perspective of people living in different European areas -encourage students to become active factors in environmental protection, acting and changing their own lifestyle as well as that of those around them- develop and promote the values needed to raise committed European conscious citizensAt the end of the project, we will have:-500 students environmentally responsible and friend of nature by participating in various practical activities during 2 years of project-500 students offering the necessary information and knowledge by the end of the project and involving them in outdoor and open education in an intercultural way-increased school success of 200 disadvantaged students from partner schools by turn into motivated and active citizens, make them aware of the fact that they can make a significant contribution to a sustainable environment and lifestyle-developed IT and language skills for 500 students by creating and using the Green Deal Toolkit (webquests, quizzes, vlogs, podcasts), the project website, during the project activities.<< Implementation >>To encourage young people to become active factors of environmental protection, acting and modifying their own lifestyle as well as that of people in community: -during the mobilities teachers will involve students in ecological educational activities related to the 6 proposed topics. Also, students will prepare institutional campaigns to raise awareness to environmental problems and factors that threaten local ecosystems, the stability of the Earth and the health of us all launching vlogs, podcasts for explaining how addressing sustainability challenges can help us address climate change, inequality, biodiversity and other 'wicked' problems. During 2 years of project, in local work each partner: will create an eco garden inside each partner school that will be maintained by students permanently; will collect necessary information about the problems that appear or are being resolved in their regions, and they will also organise environmental days included in the ecologist's calendar: world water protection day, forest day, earth day, world environment day etc. Students will create vlogs to draw attention to the effects of living in a polluted, dirty environment full of toxic substances. The project will be divided into six stages dealling with EU policy areas, each related to the expertise and geographical location of the European partners involved, developing a better understanding of the European Green Deal goals, focusing in particular on the ones that deal with environmental sustainability focusing on different topics: The European Green Deal - turning an urgent challenge into a unique opportunity, Accelerating the shift to sustainable and smart mobility, From ‘Farm to Fork’: designing a fair, healthy and environmentally - friendly food system, Preserving and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity, A zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment. Plastic and water pollution. Ways of eliminating pollution, Moving towards a clean and circular economy. Fast fashion, freecycle.<< Results >>All the activities mentioned above will have the following final products and results:-the project website-e-twinning project space-eco garden - an effective way not only to connect students to nature and improve their respect for the environment, but also to provide them with a wealth of learning opportunities and to develop a wide range of skills (sciences, arts, mathematics etc)-a Green Deal Toolkit for teaching purposes, which will contain: webquests related to the 6 project topics; interactive quizzes developed by students, focusing on the 6 topics covered throughout the project, with hints and clues for the wrong answers and reliable sources for more information for each correct answer; Hall of Fame: examples of successful environmental projects from the 5 partner countries (routes, eco-farms, school projects, young people who made important strides to protect the environment, environmentally friendly local initiatives); presentations and students’ vlogs and podcasts.Working on the project results on international level participants will improve communication in English language and vocabulary in environment related areas, IT, social and cultural skills.

Nowadays, students are required to be culturally aware, they need to learn about it and be able to act as a bridge between cultures and between tradition and modernity and serve as key agents in promoting an intercultural understanding. Adolescents tend to question the customs, traditions, beliefs and attitudes that have been transmitted to them in childhood, while seeking their place in the world and their own identity. Due to the fact that culture and education are not appreciated at their real value, European schools are increasingly having young people with many learning problems, and the lack of culture can prevent them from evolving in a constantly dynamic European market. The project addresses the need identified in the 6 schools involved to raise the students awareness of UNESCO European heritage, to make the students more sensitive to the meaning of European culture. The main goal of this project is to give young people the opportunity to enrich knowledge about European Unesco Heritage by promoting a wider understanding of Unesco heritage as a common European good, through innovative learning, teaching methods and digital ways. The project objectives are: raising young people’s awareness of the importance of Unesco European heritage, its conservation, enhancement and transmission for 500 students by the end of the project; increasing by 20% every 2 months the number of educational activities which can lead to an increase in students’ knowledge about European culture; making 2000 students familiar with their own and other European countries’ Unesco heritage, by promoting local, national and international cultures during 2 years of the project; stimulating the school success of 300 disadvantaged students from partner schools by giving them the chance to improve their knowledge about Unesco cultural heritage participating in outdoor and open education in an intercultural way; improving English language level and the specific vocabulary related to natural and cultural heritage for 500 students directly involved in the project activities, during the project lifetime; developing ICT skills for 2000 students by using the webquests, the online game, the project website, during the project activities. This project will involve highschool students, aged 14-19 years. They will participate in the interactive activities, like: Instagram photo competition aimed to encourage students to capture one Europe’s Unesco elements, celebrating the International days observed by UNESCO, creating the original postcard and participating in challenges, participating in lessons using webquests, playing Kahoot games regarding Unesco heritage during classes, creating flyers using QR codes in order to promote Unesco heritage, eTwinning activities. Teachers from each partner school (English, History, Tourism, Geography, ICT) who will bring all the knowledge and will have an active role in project activities. The project timeline is divided into 6 topics: natural heritage, cultural heritage, European heritage in danger, representative list of the intangible heritage, intangible elements in need of urgent safeguarding and the tentative list. The specific activities dedicated to each of the 6 topics will be completed with workshops on sustainable tourism, criteria for selection and good safeguarding practices of the sites, and presentations of the most important initiatives that help promote awareness and provide tools for students to engage with heritage: GoUNESCO, Go Heritage Runs, #makeheritagefun.Final products and results will be: project website, e-twinning project space, the online app available on Google play which will be addressed to teachers and pupils in secondary schools, a variety of online tools - webquests and Kahoot games created as fun and interactive activities for working in a group and for learning about Unesco European heritage and the international days observed at UNESCO;digital stories and sharing presentations in an interactive way using Microsoft Sway;leaflets with different elements of the European Unesco heritage where QR codes will be introduced.Permanent communication (e-mails, WhatsApp, Skype, Messenger, Signal, phone), the agreement signed and assumed by all the partners, the project timeline, the communication and dissemination plan (including DEOR plan), the monitoring plan will be used to avoid some misunderstanding between partners. The project idea is to assure free access of this educational materials to a high number of students and teachers to know more, to understand better and appreciate the Unesco cultural heritage. The outcomes have a high potential of leaving a long-lasting effect and will be used for sure by all 6 partner schools many years after the project will end within school curricula. The use of open education and outdoor education in an intercultural way will determine an increase in students' culture, will stimulate the interest for our heritage and the schools success.
