The aim of the project activities was to link classroom studies with everyday life focusing more on practical studies and less on theoretical side. As a result of such non-formal learning and the usage of digital devices students have got closer to nature. In today`s modern society the use of ICT is out of the question, there is a great need for using it in all the fields. Another aim of the project was learning about each other`s teaching methodologies through European culture, natural diversity, traditions and history. International cooperation was enhanced in both levels - teachers´ and students´. All project partners arranged different activities inside and outside the school in nature. To gain the better cooperation and merging the book “The Story of an Old House” was taken as the basis of project activities. The mentioned book encouraged all the students of partner countries to care and love nature more. The main objective of the project was to give students theoretical knowledge and practical skills for living in nature in harmony. The broader objective was to popularize natural sciences as there is still a constant need for good naturalists in the world. In addition to Estonian project group there were partner schools from Italy, Spain and Turkey.Big cultural and historical differences between the partner countries made the project work for students attractive and captivating. The students enjoyed immensely exchanging postcards of nature and sights. Due to the project all the teachers are now able to prepare and plan lessons in natural environment and field trips into nature as well as historical sights. It is significant to mention that through the project the nature studies were mostly carried out in nature. Nature studies were integrated with Math and Physics and English was used as a communication language between the partners.During the job shadowing experience in January 2018 all the partners observed the lessons and teaching-learning process in Italy. The partners benefitted from the experience greatly. The main focus was on teaching the students with special needs. Several good ideas were acquired during this teaching-training activity that could be implemented in home schools. Italian teachers could have their job shadowing experience in the coordinating school in Estonia. It was focused on outside studying. In June 2018 the Italian teachers were demonstrated how the overall school`s sports day and the days of natural sciences were arranged and carried out.

Witolda Pileckiego,Euran yhteiskoulu,Rigas Igaunu pamatskola,ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO DELLA VALNUREFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2016-1-LV01-KA219-022636Funder Contribution: 90,540 EUR"""Environmentally Friendly Cranberries and Innovative Tablets"" was an innovative transnational project for the students aged 13 - 16 and teachers from 5 different countries: Latvia (Rigas Igauņu pamatskola), Finland (Kiukaisten yhteiskoulu / Euran yhteiskoulu), Italy (Istituto Comprensivo della Val Nure), Poland (IV Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace im. I Dywizji Kosciuszkowskiej) and Estonia (Võru Kreutzwaldi Kool). This was a project with the big cultural diversity in which each country brought its different experiences and competences. All the partner schools found the utmost priority to purposefully integrate non-formal learning, ICT and digital devices like smartphones and tablets with the knowledge that our students receive via formal learning. *One of the main objectives of this project was addressing an open and innovative education. Despite the fact that the schools involved in the project ""Cranberries and Tablets"" were situated in different parts of Europe, they had to tackle the same problems with the students concerning the age group 13-16. Our teenagers possess various new digital devices (smart phones, tablets etc.), but they lacked the skills for using them on educational purposes. *The second objective was closely connected with the first one and was addressing underachievement in the basic skills through more effective innovative teaching methods. As cranberries means pure natural environment around us and tablets represent innovative methods of studying, the focus of the project was put on field trips to learning sites outside the school in order to integrate formal and non-formal learning in different subjects (math, science, literacy, art, craft, English, IT). This project met the objectives set by the Erasmus+ Programme. *Specifically, the following objectives were fulfilled: 1. to provide more competence for students and teachers in ICT and to encourage using more ICT tools in everyday learning and teaching process. 2. to arouse students` interest towards basic subjects and achieve better results in them 3. to integrate formal (in classroom) and non-formal (other natural environments) learning 4. to promote teachers` and students` communication, language and cooperation skills at regional and European level 5. to supplement curricula in our school systems 6. to broaden the knowledge of natural and cultural heritage of home country and partner countries in order to learn to recognize and respect similarities and differences. *During the first project year the focus of tasks was on teaching our students how to use to make videos and sound recordings of nature using smartphones or tablets during the field trip. We also focused on teaching our teachers how to use Open Educational Resources (OER). We also organised one field trip with integrating formal and non-formal learning in different subjects (math, science, literacy, art, craft, English, IT) and some pieces of creative writing (poems, tales etc) inspired by nature was produced for eBook. *During the second project year the focus was shifted to rehearsing and performing plays based on environment, videoing the plays and having a video conference. We also organised a Photo Hunt which activities were connected with ICT. * The last year focused on one more field trip. This time we also used smartphones, tablets and ready-made apps in the nature. In the 3rd year more attention was paid to project products. Contributions of new learning resources were uploaded in Open Educational Resources and a multilingual eBook was designed, edited and uploaded in free e-books environment. eBook also contained photos made during the field trips and photos of art-work inspired by the field trips. * During project students´cultural awareness was raised (Kahoot game, learning about partner schools etc), their basic skills were improved by integrating and using innovative methodologies; their transversal skills were enhanced. Teachers professional skills were promoted. Of course the project was important also to improve all participants English language skills and using digital devices in formal and non-formal studying has become part of everyday work. Overall feedback of partners was good - project was interesting, demanded a lot of work, but as a result it made school life more interesting and gave opportunity to integrate IT and non-formal learning into learning process."

Our second aim was to prevent students from dropping out of schools too early. Our opinion was that well-performing and up-to-date education and training systems can help to tackle the aforementioned challenges by providing people with the skills required by the labor market. Through teaching better ICT skills and introducing attractive modern tools into learning processes, we aim at improving the quality of education and training, which in return will lead to more engaging and enjoyable lessons and motivated individual-based learning processes that will lead to falling numbers of drop-outs.The technical equipment available in our schools were in the center of our project work. As the leadership, teamwork, reflection, management, presentation, communication and negotiation skills are very important in personal and professional life and are not sufficiently covered in school curriculas, the children and teachers in our project learned new technologies for learning, teaching and communicating so they can participate in the digital world. We tried to merge a wide range of schools with their individual assets, starting with primary and basic schools, pupils between 6 to 13 years old. The project “ From Europe 1010 BC to Europe 2020 PC” took place in five European countries (Estonia, Finland, Poland, Slovenia and Italy) in 2015 - 2018. The objectives were to improve ICT skills in general, but also taking into account intercultural differences. The main focus was on exercising and practicing skills in various situations that will develop the ICT knowledge, language skills, boost confidence, as well as leadership skills and raising the level of understanding and openness for people from other backgrounds.

In September 2017, seven types of bees have been added to the list of endangered species for the first time. The consequences of losing them would be huge: Albert Einstein once said that humans “would not survive the honeybees’ disappearance for more than five years.” It is within this context that the project MELISSA was initiated. In Greek mythology MELISSA was a nymph who discovered and taught the use of honey.MELISSA proposes to raise the profile of the environmental importance of bees locally, nationally and internationally; uniquely to this project, it will also research and demonstrate the importance of bee-keeping both historically and culturally, within an international context. The project will involve pupils aged 7-15 from schools, geographically spanning the whole of Europe: from Perth, Scotland, in the North; Thessaloniki, Greece in the South; Voru, Estonia in the East; Angra do Heroismo, Azores, Portugal in the West and Verbania-Pallanza, Italy, central. These schools have been carefully selected as they each offer unique skills and experience which they will bring to the project. The project will be based around clearly defined, cross-curricular, transnational tasks, each with a specific, measurable outcome. It has at its heart the desire to ensure that pupils leave school environmentally aware, qualified, skilled, optimistic and enthusiastic about their role as a European citizen. It proposes to foster understanding of bees whilst offering the opportunity for entrepreneurship from an early age. It aims to inspire young people, to build on their sense of initiative and to show them that, through team work, cooperation, hard work and good leadership, they can create new resources, overcome challenges and become successful ambassadors for bee-keeping. Through participating in this project, pupils will work towards becoming successful learners as they will need to be part of a team, as well as taking on leadership roles. They will strive to be responsible citizens as questions around the environment and the importance of bees to human life will be researched. This project will assist them in becoming confident contributors, as all pupils will be required to present their work, in different languages, at all stages of their project, discuss their rationale, travel and meet fellow pupils from different countries, and share what they have learnt from these experiences back home. This project will result in the production of meaningful, multi-lingual, 'case-study' style, practical, innovative educational resources, lesson plans and risk assessments which can be used by other schools and organisations wishing to initiate similar projects. These resources will be used to promote bee keeping and will also explain the importance of bees in our environmental and cultural domain. It will offer the opportunity for pupils to research the importance of bees within our diverse cultures. Identifying the differences and similarities among our partnership. It will raise awareness of the importance of bees to human life. It will offer hands-on experience in bee-keeping within an educational set-up and will generate innovative education resources to support this, thus strengthening the profiles of teaching professionals. This is a multi-lingual, cross curricular project which will develop and hone basic skills as well as provide the opportunity to gain new and exciting skills which will remain with participants as they progress through their education into the workplace. These skills will be shared with other schools both nationally and internationally. The entrepreneurial spirit of young people will be fostered by way of a final ""Bee Fayre"" where pupils will present the outcomes of the project and market their bee-related products. This project will use the context of learning about the nature of bees to explore cross-curricular, multi-lingual education, communicating at its core, the importance of bees to human life. The impact of bees on our culture, literature, arts and music, the history and styles of bee-keeping will be explored, alongside the life of bees, how they make honey, the relationship between humans and bees, how to become a bee-keeper, and the commercial/health products derived from bees. Many longer term, sustainable benefits from this project are anticipated: having established our schools as bee-keeping schools we will become an attraction and a source of knowledge from which other schools and community groups can benefit. Hence the production of a guide to bee-keeping for primary schools/community groups is an essential outcome of this project."

This project brings together European countries and partners where the music education has a particular significance and importance, with a special emphasize on the positive influence it has on the special needs students. -Thematic field of the project involves: Active citizenship, Inclusive approaches, School improvement and quality evaluation, European citizenship and dimension.-Profile of the participants: School education, Local body and Ngos-Target audience will be: Teachers and students from Primary and Secondary schools, including special needs students Its main objective is to introduce and explore a wide range of free available music technologies and learning tools that provide extra motivation for students and is based on their interests and everyday reality . Participants in the project will work with sensitiveness to individual differences, in order to be prepared to meet different cultures. We first intend to enhance our learners’ motivation and investment in learning foreign languages and music skills since some of these skills are basic in the labor market and allow them to develop their future competences. On the other hand, we want to offer them an opportunity to meet their European neighbors, discover European cultures in native place, put forward their own culture, broaden their cultural horizons, and thus, build their European citizenship. All partners carried out a research in their countries to check if the students and the teachers are equipped in musical skills: it became clear that young people are not educated musically enough and teachers do not possess the skills for effective use of music that would make lessons more interesting for the pupils. what's more, they all underestimate the importance of musical integration into education and the positive influence it has on pupils with special needs since music tends to be one of the top motivators for children with special needs in the education system.Using captivating instruments prompts a child to make requests, the use of different instruments encourages the development of motor skills and the child is more willing to work through an activity by using music in a challenging way. That is one of the reasons we think the this topic is very important in order to get familiar with the other best European practices and share experiences. Every country has different experience in using different teaching methods. We consider studying different music from different cultures and comparing them as a crucial starting point in educational process nowadays. Music education in Europe is becoming more open to all, with a great emphasize on the International Global element that is recognizable in every song. Globalization, the vast increase in intercultural communication and interaction, and the cultural diversity in today’s classrooms create a demand for a new orientation in education and the implementation of school programs that will adopt global perspectives and promote intercultural understanding and respect. -Reflecting on this need, we focus on discovering common melodies of folk songs of partner countries and publish a unique music education book with implementations and sample songs. -Moreover, folk stories will be presented and turned to a play. Music teachers will be trained about multicultural music education and international teaching-learning techniques and approaches including special education needs. -A common orchestra and choir will be established. -Our project inspires and motivates students and teachers in the importance of music education through folk songs using cross cultural curriculum beyond borders. With the approval of our project, a collabrative environment is going to be created in order to improve soft skills of both students and teachers that encourage team work. Discussing these individual experiences and process in groups of national and international teams will hopefully lead to new horizons in student's and teacher's life-both mentally and emotionally.
