Throughout history, the world has always been connected by the sea in different ways. Humans depend on the sea when it comes to food, work and transportation. With this partnership, our aim is to develop a project that focuses on the sea from different perspectives; as a way of connecting people, reinforce peaceful relationships, as a source of creating job opportunities and as an energy and food resource. Moreover, the project will empasise that the sea is and marine life are under threat. Pollution, climate change and waste, such as plastic, is currently a major concern and can ruin the sea as a food resource. The seas are interconnected, and thus the preservation of the seas is a common resposibility. The project will also emphasize fundamental European values such as democracy, diversity, peace and solidarity. In addition to these central values, other important objectives will emphasize increased social competence for the participating countries through the planned activities as well as digital and artistic expression in various ways. The participants will improve their knowledge about the sea on different levels: history, geography, politics, science, Languages, career opportunities and raised awareness of the preservation of the marine biodiversity and a sustainable development are all central objectives of the project. The activites and concrete results of the project will involve presentations, creative work such as theatre and video documentary, the creation of a website, a webpage on E-twinning, different awareness campaigns, career fairs, film festivals and art exhibitions. Various and many dissemination activities will be crucial throughout the entire project. In addition to the involvement of the partner school, the local community will also take part in activities related to the project where local media and politicians will be invited. The five participating schools are each connected to their sea: Ingieråsen Skole in Norway is located by the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea, Agrupamento de Escolas Morgado de Mateus in Portugal is located by the Atlantic Sea, The High School of Petra, in the island of Lesvos in Greece is located in the Mediterranean Sea, Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 1 Unirea in Romania is located by The Black Sea and Collège Beauséjour in French Martinique in the Caribbean basin. Together this will contribute to increased understanding of the way the sea works as all partner schools are able to experience the sea and its biodiversity up close. The sea will function as a common platform to achieve increased understanding and this will unite all the partner schools. The project will give 100 students opportunity to participate in a short-term exchange. These will be chosen to reflect the profile of the school in total, bringing students with different socio-economic background together bringing a broader perspective to the project. In addition to the traveling students, the project will also involve several classes from each of the five schools aiming to involve a total of thousand students. For the involved students it will be a unique possibility to increase their foreign language competence and motivation in language learning, use foreign language in daily life through practice, develop self-expression skills, increase career opportunities, increase awareness, understanding, tolerance and respect not only of cultural and social differences between nations, but also for our seas. For teachers, it will be a great chance to be engaged in European collective team work and interdisciplinary cooperation, improve their pedagogical skills by exchanging and sharing teaching methods, good practices and ideas that will enrich their professional expertise and develop teaching skills with innovative approaches for communicative skills. The potential long term benefits of the project is to make our students aware of European diversity as a good value and of the sea as a common treasure and a collective responsibility. We intend to reinforce their conscience as European citizens sharing the same values: respecting and valuing diversity, being tolerant, sense of responsibility, caring for the sea preservation. Our results, reports and website will serve as a resource and inspiration for all stakeholders. Our project may function as ""a drop in the sea"" when it comes to highlightening and raising awareness of the importance and preservation of the sea. However, through our dissemanation activities the partners will act as an important voice in our communities and beyond. After all, many drops make a sea."

Being a teenager, she especially appealed to the youth since it’s them who will face the worst effects. Using this enormous global spotlight our aim is to address the climate crisis. Without environmental action, the future of our planet would be doubtful. The more citizens do something to contribute to conservation and protecting the environment, the more resilient the natural environment will be for future generations. Informed, targeted action is a key component of education for a sustainable future. Objectives:•To promote environmental education amongst students and instil values, knowledge and skills, which lead to positive behavioural changes that support the school and the environment. •To instil values of positive behaviour and sense of responsibility among all students in accordance with sound environmental practices. •To encourage all students to actively participate in their schools’ environmental activities and promote their own initiatives. •To educate students about environment and global environmental issues. •To promote students’ attitudes towards greening their school through environmental initiatives. •To encourage schools to invest time and effort in creative environmental initiatives.Number and profile of participants:We attempt to adopt a whole-school approach to climate action in our project. In this approach, students’ classroom learning about climate change is reinforced by the formal and informal messages promoted by the school’s values and actions. In other words, students and other members of the school community live what they learn, and learn what they live. It means that we include action for reducing climate change in every aspect of school life. This includes school governance, teaching content and methodology, campus and facilities management as well as cooperation with partners and the broader communities. We consider that the active involvement of all internal and external school stakeholders, namely students, teachers, principals, school staff at all levels and the wider school community such as families and community members in reflecting and acting on climate change is key to a successful implementation of the whole-school approach.Although the number of students and teachers actively travelling and taking part in the mobilities will be of course much smaller due to the restrictions of the budget.Description:During our project we will adequately educate students about-Reasons for climate change in general-How has global climate change affected the countries of our project partners (Latvia, Portugal, France, Turkey and Germany)-What has been done so far to mitigate it in the respective countries-What individual action can be done to reduce emissionsIn terms of the individual action we identified the following five ways of decreasing the carbon footprint as the most effective ones and the most related to the daily life of our students. C1- Dec 20 DE Optimise your diet- Food waste & other ways of reducing carbon footprint C2- Apr 21 FR Plastic- ain’t our-bagC3- Oct 21 PT The buzz on e-waste: technology, waste, and the environmentC4- Jan 22 TR Shop smart- The fashion industry and climate changeC5- April 22 LV Ready, set, sow- gardening for climate changeMethodology:Our approach is twofold: In a first step students will learn about factors that drive climate change and the vulnerability profile of their own country and their partners’ ones. They will also learn about key approaches and technologies, to adapt to the impacts of climate change and to reduce emissions of greenhouse gasesIn a second step after identifying a focus issue and learning about the current situation in their green space it is important to enable students to follow through to act on their ideas, in order to make a real difference for our native plants and animals. Consequently, in every single topic mentioned above they will participate in hands-on activities. Results and impact:- 1 website- 1 Facebook page- 1 e-Twinning project space- 1 set of initial and final questionnaires/tests- 5 workshops during the learning, teaching and training activities (LTTAs)- 3 e-books (Cook yourself green- a recipe book/ How to give up plastic: tips and advice for an eco-friendly household/ DIY- how to upcycle)- 1 calendar (containing tips to a planet-friendly gardening)- various charity events (bazaars, markets, repair events,...)- 1 exhibition ""Fashion & climate change""- 100 certificates of attendance- 100 EuropassOur project will help students understand and address the impact of global warming, increase “climate literacy” among young people, and encourage changes in their attitudes and behaviour."

Especially in the last 50 years, the social structure of the societies has changed considerably because of the globalization world, economic crisis, wars, transportation developments, people's greed, immigration, asylum, refugee problems, the decline of the influence of social norms, individualization ... etc. While there were only a few foreigners in our neighborhoods, we now wonder if the native people are less than foreigners. We started to live a life with our people, our classes, the streets, people from every country, every nation, every religion, every culture. This multiculturalism naturally presents some problems. Some of these problems are racism, social exclusion, loneliness, increase in individualization, social inconsistency, lack of empathy, violence, failure, constant hopelessness. As for schools, these problems emerge as academic failure, social exclusion, asocialism, vandalism, hopelessness, school leaving, social exclusion and exclusion, and cultural erosion. This social and cultural diversity is an issue that must be handled with care. This is one of the reasons for the emphasis on Cultural Heritage and Social Participation in the 2020 European Development Plan. So, what should be the role of educational institutions at this point? Of course, the place of Schools and Education in Society Construction cannot be denied. Therefore, as partners, France (the Coordinator), Turkey, Romania, Italy and Lithuania, we think that an intercultural education model should be adopted in our schools. We think that the education management in our schools should be in line with the realities and needs of the society and we believe that the fact that intercultural education is so important is a fact to be accepted by the whole world. Thanks to ID&EU, we aim primarily to create a common European culture and to improve the citizenship and human characteristics of people. In this way, our main aim is to create a European culture with positive values such as tolerance, respect, benevolence, cooperation, justice, unity, social cohesion and social cohesion. When we reach this goal, we believe that many problems that we have recently faced, such as social segregation, racism, loneliness, individualization, violence, hopelessness, fear of the future, social unrest, economic crises will disappear. We believe that the positive educational environments that will be developed in our schools and the intercultural education model will reduce the problems such as early school leaving, absenteeism, social segregation, loneliness, academic failure, lack of motivation and social exclusion. The main priorities of ID&EU are;Cultural Heritage: During ID&EU, Partners will work on, meet and learn about Cultures, Religions, Customs, Traditions...etc of other nations. At the end, they will learn about the Cultural Heritage of EuropeSocial Inclusion and Social Cohesion: Partners will work on Intercultural Values of Europe and They will gain the common positive Values. Also, because they will have a chance to take into action and be a part of our project acts, They will have self-confidence, create tolerance, sense of belonging and stop feeling excluded or alone.Combat with Failure and Early School Leaving: In our schools, one of the most important reason of failure is bot being able to be or feel a part of the society they live in. Also, not knowing how to behave, react, interprete the events they are not familiar with. If we break this walls, then, school environemts will be better.ICT and Language Skills: All participants will use ICT devices so much in a true way that, they are going to create videos, search informations, join cpmpetitions, contribute to virtual activities..etcThanks to ID&EU, participants will understand the EU policies, bodies, rules, norms and future plans betterDissemination and sustainability have great importance for us. To be able to disseminate well; All outcomes of the project will be available on project website, school websites, Twinspace and social networking sites. Furthermore, all teaching and learning materials made during the workshops, results of surveys and their analyses, short films from the seminars or sample Show-up lessons or all recorded videos… will be available on all virtual platforms. All above mentioned material will be free available for reading, downloading, printing, distributing or using for any lawful purpose without financial, legal or technical barriers in English language and other participants` languages.
